Wouldnt surprise me at all if Melo bails Nuggets for Knicks. What you think?

04-27-2010, 11:18 AM
Why would he?

What is in New York that is worth giving up 30 million to join a ****** team?

Why always New York?

From a neutral perspective, I really don't see why New York would be appealing to anyone that can get a max deal and stay where they are, as they'd lose money to go to a worse situation in most if not all scenarios (I'd say Bosh being the only one that comes to mind who is in a worse situation).

if he is going anywhere prolly going to a winning team, y bother with the knicks ( even if they sign two max free agents they still going to have a lot of holes in their lineup).

I still don't think he'll go anywhere. If he does I don't think it would be to the Knicks.

he's definitely going somewhere, i dont see him staying in Denver. that team is not going to stay together.

BTW. he doesnt even own a house in Denver, he lives in a Hotel.

he's still got a whole year left on his contract. A lot can happen in a year, and he's not going to get traded anytime soon

"I think" I'm tired of seeing these threads. I could easily make one thread each for each player in the league titled "Will ------- stay in -------- or go to New York".

If all the players in the league went to New York, you wouldn't be able to call this a league anymore.

What are you talking about? He owns a loft in Downtown Denver. I put in his satellite TV for him. It's a really nice place.

Even if NY signs 1 max guy + Lee, it will be hard for them so sign anyone in 2011, since whoever the max guy is, his contract goes up 10% every year, as will Lee's probably. So unless they fill their roster with all 1 year minimum contracts for the 2010 season, having the money to get Melo in 2011 is unlikely, even with Curry's contract coming off the books. Unless they don't get the max guy this summer, then by all means they can pursue him.

Because we have some young talented players and have the cap space to sign two of the top 10 players in the league. What's so hard to understand? You put Bosh and Wade in NY and we're immediately a title contender and knocking out 55+ win seasons.

....

and Miami can sign Wade and 2 more max players...

and Chicago can sign a max player to add to a much better cast than NY...

and NJ can sign 2 max players (or close)...

why always NY?

Why would Wade pass up 30 mill for an opportunity he can easily have here in his home where he won a championship?

It's like NY fans believe they're the only city in the world or something...

colinskik

I could actually see Melo thriving in NY...

But I must say it's pretty ridiculous that every day there's a new thread about a player possibly playing in NY. What's even more ridiculous though is how some people try their hardest to **** on NY and end up looking pathetic. All you haters have probably visited NY at one time or at least would jump at an opportunity to do so. You won't see me itching to get down to Orlando...

NJ can sign one, as can chicago. Miami cant resign wade and two other max players, the can resign wade and bring 1 max guy in with him... genius, how can you even get that wrong with it being posted all over the net and tv that the knicks have the most space this summer... did you think miami had extra money in the mattress that stern doesn't know about.... read up on your facts before you post dude.

If he were to go to NY it would be the Nets not the Knicks. New York is in no better position than anyone else. The only people that think so are New Yorkers. If you blew all your Cap space your gonna have to fill out the rest of your roster with crap bacause you only hae a handful of players under contract for next year. Besides the fact that your squad is not as talented as you think. Mr Galinari is not that good and i cant even name the rest of your young talent. You will probably land Bosh. i can see that happening. He seems the type that might take full advantege of a big market like that to put his name along the Lebrons and Wades. He wants that recognition so bad and i see no better place to get it than NY. Hes in a horrible situation so no chance he stays. But he could also go play with Wade in Miami.... This site seriously needs to start policing the amount of ________ to New York talk.

Carmelo is coming to the Lakers after his contract is up in Denver. By then Kobe, Odom and Artest will be winding down and we'll need to add Melo and/or Durant to keep in the hunt.

Hawkeye15
04-27-2010, 05:33 PM
should be interesting to see what happens in NY. No top free agent other than LeBron is going to want to be the first star to sign, risking them getting nobody else, and then sucking. If LeBron goes, then yes, you will see another star sign up. If LeBron signs with Cleveland, my guess is the Knicks throw everything they have at JJ and Bosh. Melo only comes if LeBron goes, or Melo may go where Wade goes. But he aint just leaving for the Knicks by himself.

We're the only team in the league besides Miami who can offer two max. If LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Amar'e/Joe Johnson/etc. want to team up together it's either in NY or in Miami. We can debate the pros and cons of both locations but to ignore that NY is at least going to be a player in the discussions is ignorant. If we really had no chance than these players would have just re-signed by now. There's a reason why they are all waiting for the summer. Is it possible we don't hit big? Sure but I don't expect a total miss either.

Lets see.... I can make max money and play with D Wade in southbeach, make max money and play with D Rose in ChiTown, or I can make max money and play with Tony Douglas in New York...... hmmmmmm, decisions decisions!

Cute. What a great fan you've become. I can play the same game. Do I want to play with Mario Chalmers in Miami, James Johnson in Chicago, or Chris Bosh in New York? First of all, you can't just assume Wade is on the Heat. Second of all, you spelled Toney Douglas wrong because you are a shmuck. Third of all, Eddy Curry would have been the best joke.

I understand this opinion, however, it is not completely true. The Knicks can easily fill out the roster. They have an option on Bill Walker that they will pick up. They can buy a 1st round pick in a loaded draft like they did last year. They can sign two max FAs (for fun I'll let my dream come true). Then trade Eddy Curry's huge expiring for a talented player on a big contract that a team might want to get rid of (like Caron Butler and Haywood this season...Ex: Rip Hamilton?).

C - Amar'e Stoudemire
PF - Danilo Gallinari
SF - LeBron James
SG - Rip Hamilton
PG - Toney Douglas

Bench:
G/F Wilson Chandler
G/F Bill Walker
1st round pick on shotblocking center

Mike D'Antoni doesn't like playing more than 8-9 guys anyway so that'd be a complete 8 man rotation. Plus I haven't even added any vet mins going for a ring. Can you say PJ Brown, Posey, Cassell circa 2008?

I seriously hope you meant to say "nugs"... but I honestly can't see him leaving, maybe to ny but not a big chance, and it's way too early, we might have LeBron, Bosh, Superman, Batman, and Barack Obama by then, might not have room for Melo.lol. but seriously, from what I hear Denver is an awesome city and a great place to live, my uncle just got back on sunday, he says the difference from NY is unreal, nicer neighborhoods, as in their ghettos are similar to our middle class, and the people are alot friendlier, but hey, we'll see next summer right.
