Xavier Nady (elbow) was scratched from Wednesday's lineup.
Nady is still struggling to throw long distances and will take the next few days off. Tyler Colvin started in right field against the Mets.

anyone ever see that episode of the simpsons where homer goes back to his college/bart's a healer and the kicker from their football team attempts to win the game with a field goal and then his leg becomes detached, but only to kick the ball again mid-flight and win the game. thats gonna happen to Xavier Nady.

Jimbo's good for doling out the dollars, even to the gimps. Last year it was Gregg and the whole do we warm him up, do we not warm him up thing to start the season.

Lol. In his fairness, that policy has netted us Dempster and Chad Fox about 3 different times.

For all the legitimate reasons Lou is lacking as a manager (pitching/ using relievers comes to mind), seriously, why would he want to be here after this season under this front office? The primary job of the GM coming out of spring training is to help facilitate a 24 man active roster, where 1-24, all can play. That has really not been the case for two years running.

Santana would eat Fukudome up like blow fish sushi. That explains that one. Baker actually hits lefties, so that actually makes total sense.

I know it makes sense but Fontenot+Baker+Colvin minus Aramis and Nady makes the lineup seem pretty weak

1) A Ram will pinch hit in this game, if not come in should the game dictate that late.
2) I could strike him out right now, he's in a total funk and needs to unwind for a game.
3) who else is Lou going to play?

In the spirit of making "big moves," if ever there was a time to conduct further in-season experiments in Cubs Chem 202, this game would be the one. Retroact Nady to the 15 day DL, so get this, he can heal up and not eat up an active roster spot. Bring up Castro, play him at ss, move Theriot over to 2b, facing a lefty. Fontenot vs. lefties is well, un good.
