View Full Version : I think Lebron grew...

I noticed it while watching the Cavs vs Bulls.

Lebron looks to be bigger than Jamison, which isn't surprising since he weighs 30 lbs more, but I also noticed Lebron is slightly taller than Jamison. I couldn't really tell from watching the game. However, ESPN right now has 2 images of Lebron next to Jamison... one seems like Jamison is slightly further than James, but the other one seems like they're pretty even. James looks slightly taller than Jamison either way.

Jamison is listed at 6'9... is Lebron now a legit 6'9 or 6'10 player?!

Maybe Jamison shrunk

I'll keep my eyes out. I doubt it. Jamison probably is a short 6-9, and LeBron a tall 6-8. One inch difference is hard to notice, unless they are standing back to back. Probably just an illusion.

alot of nba players listed heights are inaccurate. therefore, jamison could actually be only 6'7, making it appear lebron has grown.

check ESPN right now on the NBA home page and then click the link below it to Chris Broussard's column.

In both pictures, Jamison actually looks significantly shorter than James.

Also, in the first picture ont he NBA home, by guesstimation, Lebron looks only slightly shorter than Shaq. Either this, or Jamison has always been like 6'7 and
I just never noticed.

If he is 6-10, that just makes him look even more unstoppable.

that might be right, i think maybe i just never noticed that Jamison was not really a legit 6'9 player.

Either way, Lebron seems to be more beastly each and every year.

Lebron is already probably the second most physically intimidating player in NBA history.

True.

But if you are defending him, there's no chance I'm gonna try to be physical with him if he was 6'10. I wouldn't even do it if he was 6'8 let alone 6'10.

In the picture, Jamison is clearly behind a couple of feet Lebron.

So maybe that's why he looks smaller.

If I'm a power forward, and an undersized one at that...I'm going to say I'm taller than I am. LeBron might say he's shorter than he is too.

I highly doubt either one grew, or the other shrank. I bet it's just fibbing on the heights.

And that pic on ESPN does seem odd..but you don't know if Tawn is standing straight up. He also looks to be slightly in the background, which could take an inch or two away. The camera could be slanted slightly too. One picture can be chock full of optical illusions.

from the picture and the eyeball test Shaq easily looks to be 4-5" taller than Lebron so that puts him back at 6'8... nothing to report here. haha

possibly he came into the league at 18, and while was almost fully matured (could still add muscle and such) he was still young enough where growth is still plausible

Joe Mauer grew one year and needed new equipemtn i remember reading

Jamison is 6' 7.75".

Shaq is 7'1" and looks a lot taller James.

people are also forgetting the shoes. some of the soles add a good inch, especially basketball shoes. i know i look an inch and a half taller wearing my jordans. maybe lebron had big soled shoes and jamison the opposite

Those pictures on the ESPN page are not very good indications. They need to be right next to each other for a solid comparison.

Durant is listed at 6'9", and check out this picture with him next to Lebron (and some other people I have never in my life seen before. Total nobodies) http://www.pba.com/images_upload/gallery/GD_61_9_24_2008_9_45_10_AM.jpg.

Though Lebron's legs are crimped a little, KD's still noticeably taller than him. I'd say he's an NBA 6'8" still. AKA real life 6'7".

jealousy? Lol I will hate LeBron even if he ends up on the Warriors someday and brings them a championship.

Now you're just lying.

Yeah, I call bull****

I remember during the playoffs in 07-08 Ben Wallace and Lebron were standing right next to eachother and Lebron looked like he was an inch taller then Ben Wallace which is weird since he was their Center/PF and Wallace is listed as 6'10. So my guess is Lebron's 6'10

LeBron is not 6-8. I have said the same thing, but comparing him to JJ Hickson & others. Hickson is listed at 6-9, yet LBJ is noticeably taller than him too.

Now Hickson may be listed generously, but I do believe that LBJ is legitimately 6-9 or taller.

I'm pretty sure my post on the last page goes a way to disprove this, no?

That said, it's tough to ever tell how tall NBA players actually are now a days. There should really be a little more accountability by the league with this. I.e., not let them take their official height with shoes on. That's ridiculous.

And for you guys who honestly think it's HGH or steroids...HGH won't make you taller, unless you severely lack natural human growth hormones. It does nothing for people who secrete normal levels of growth hormone. I'm going to guess that considering how naturally tall and big LeBron is, he's not lacking in the natural growth hormone department. It isn't going to make a grown man's bones bigger or longer. Think about it.

Anabolic steroids stunt growth ...I thought that was common knowledge, guess not. All they promote is temporary muscle growth.

HGH can accelerate the rate of growth in individuals, but not increase the maximum height. Steroids stunt bone growth in developing humans.

So let's drop the HGH steroid talk. They wont make a mid-20 year-old taller.

Moving on...
