Yes. "Upset" is the word. I could care less what other people think...I just don't get how you can deduct that the Bobcats will win tonight using anything but sheer hope.

Russy has to have a big game today...I think he will.

Curious to see how Kobe decide to play today.

No, I actually do...when they tell me why, or back up what they say. 95% of PSD can't or won't ever do that.

I'm not going to care what you think if you say "Kobe Bryant is going to drop 95 points today" unless you tell me how you came to that conclusion.

Every team that won Game 1 will win the series. The better seed will win.

There are only two interesting series, maybe 2 1/2 now.

2. SA/Dallas

they are rare, the only one reliable is the #4 / #5 seed. That I really don't consider an upset though. especially since Utah/Denver finished with identical records, but let's not get crazy here.

One team isn't very good on the road, one team went 1-3 against the other, and that same team doesn't have homecourt advantage in that series, not to mention they just lost their starting center and already missing their SF off the bench... c'mon, let's get real here.

Im sure this game would be a hell of a lot different if Dallas didnt get 20 more FT's then the Spurs.

Obviously. The more aggressive team usually wins the game. And that is because they receive more FT's. Not to mention the HCA. And I know opposing teams always complain about not receiving enough calls. But it always happens. And then they don't complain when they're at home & receiving the exact same benefit. It'll all even out. Dallas simply has a more aggressive squad. SA has a few aggressive players, but a lot of jump shooters (who obviously won't get a lot of FT's) in Bonner, Mason, & often Jefferson & McDyess settle for too many perimeter shots.

That's why I said Melo's a better scorer, because he can score in so many different ways, making him that much harder to shutdown. There were a lot of questionable calls, which is the only reason why KD was able to score anything, without the calls I don't think he can score on Ron-Ron. Like I said, it was just Game 1 and I'll wait until the series is over before declaring him a playoffs dud, but from what I saw, unless he has a lights out shooting game (like Dirk did tonight), I don't see him scoring 25+pts on 50+FG% all series... He's still too limited offensively IMO, his jumper is just really, really wet.

Good game for the Mavs, the role players really played well, but you guys still need Terry to pull some weight.

@ tredigs, that's why I have Melo in my 1st tier, he's a proven playoff performer, I'll wait until the end of the series to declare Durant a playoff dud (for now), but I think experience is the big difference/deciding factor between the two.

What has he done in the playoffs? :eyebrow:

Eliminated your Mavs for one :p... My point is that when the pressure is on, he can still deliver.

And gotten to where, the WCF? Point being?

When the pressure is on, Dirk can do the same.

I was comparing Melo to Durant, not Dirk...

...Did you put Dirk in your first tier?

Didn't make a tiers list, but no, I don't have Dirk or CP3 in my Top 5 (I do have Melo there), they're borderline, but my list of top players aren't final until the end of the playoffs (obviously CP3 will stay as is)... I was impressed with Dirk's play tonight, but doubt he shoots over 80+% from the floor for the series.

Durant's played ONE game, in LA, against arguably the best man defender in the league + a rotating double team and you're declaring him a bust? Haha, wow --steep expectations? Duran't going to have a terribly tougher time going against the Lakers double teams than Melo going against C.J. Miles in Utah now that Kirilenko's out --and it will show in the box score-- but I'll still take Durant 10/10 times over Melo. One game, hell even one series, as a 21 year old 3rd year player won't dissuade me of that. He's too far ahead of Melo defensively already, and is just a way more efficient scorer than Melo.

Also, even with yesterdays lights out shooting (which was awesome no doubt), Melo is a career 42% playoff shooter who has never made the finals. I'm not exactly sold on him as a "proven playoff performer".
