Sorry peeps, I desperately just want to see the Lakers win two more rings for a dynasty, especially with the core that they have right now.

After that, id like to see NYC to win it all. Maybe Phoenix and Dallas too. I think the great Steve Nash, Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki deserves at least one ring before they retire.

Lakers, Cavs, Magic

Cavs are definitely the trendy pick, but I do see the Lakers putting it together in the 2nd round after struggling through the first. They will not stomp all over the Cavs in the finals, but will win the close ones in route to a 4-2 win.

Cav's and Lakers are the proven teams my darkhorse would be the Jazz.
The problem is the West is wide open, it wouldn't be a shocker to have a lower seed win it al either, the talent is that good.
The east you can't count out Orlando or Boston, or even the Hawks, its going to be a great post season anyway you look at it, I can't wait!

There are only two teams that could realistically win it all. And they play in the same conference. I'll give everyone a hint... It's not the West.

This.

 What have the Cavs proved? That they can make it to the Finals and get swept, and have the worst ratings in how ever long? Or that they can get to the ECF and get dominated in the paint? Oh, but this year they are #1! Same story, they've been #1 in the past. Just not enough players around LeBron.

Speaking to me?

Well, considering the Cavs have the second best efficiency differential in the league, the league's best record, and most importantly, the league's most productive player. I think that it is safe to say Cleveland is a lock to win the championship, IF they reach the Finals.

Now, Orlando, the owners of the league's second best record, and BEST efficiency differential, are certainly next in line. Barring stupidity, they should handily beat a LeBron James-less Cavaliers team this afternoon (proving furthermore, James' irreplaceable worth in comparison to Kobe). And the next two, to finish with home court (if they ever manage to make it past the Cavs).

Funny how no one gives other cavs players any credit. Theyre the deepest team in the league imo, cavs win lebron gets credit, if the cavs lose its the other players fault. Try rooting for the team instead of one player.

So you give all reasons to why Cleveland is going to win, you pretty much guarantee it by saying it's a lock they win the championship, but only IF they reach the finals? :eyebrow: Kind of contradicting your own statement don't you think?

Not really. If you read my first statement, I'm pretty much implying that the only two teams that can win the championship, play in the same conference (Cleveland and Orlando). So of course, the real test is not going to be the Finals, but rather, the Conference Finals.

Thus (basically), if Cleveland advances, they're a lock to win the championship. If Orlando advances, they're a lock to win the championship.

I'm pretty much overlooking everybody else. ;)

I have Cleveland losing to Boston in the 2nd round and it's pretty much a toss up in the ECF against the Magic. It has just been my gut feeling since the season began that the postseason is where Boston and LA will show what they are fully capable of in a 7-game series.

This all depends so heavily on the play of VC for Orlando and Mo for Cle but i have:

ECF:CAVS vs MAGIC with the Magic coming out on top again in 6 games. The Cavs will have Shaq but thats still not enough to solve their matchup problems against the Magic. I think if Lewis can do what he did last year and VC can produce well the Magic will beat the Cavs again.

WCF:LAKERS vs THUNDER with the Lakers topping the Thunder in 5 games. The Lakers have the best player in the game (IMO), and so much championship exp on that team. The Thunder will show their youth come playoff time and while they are talented enough to dominate some good teams in the regular season they playoffs are a different beast. They will ride on Kevin Durants talent and get past the first couple of rounds but they will not overcome the Lakers in the finals.

NBA Finals: The Magic failed last year. They will not do so again. Matt Barnes will be put on Kobe. While Barnes in not worthy of being spoken of in the same sentence as Kobe as a player, he is a scrappy defender. He will be physical on Kobe. He might frustrate him. Tempers will flare. The Magic will utilize D12 more wisely and feed him down low more often than last time. The Magic players will play very physical ball. They also have no confusion on PG this time. Nelson will eat Fisher alive. And dont forget that while Kobe is Mr Clutch himself, theres a player on the Magic this year (Vince Carter) that doesnt get enough credit for his own clutch plays. He might not be as good as Kobe but he thrives on pressure. I should know... im a Nets fan. Magic in 6
