I just noticed something...Of all the teams in the NHL, why would you choose to follow the hapless Leafs? lol...I feel sorry for anyone I know who's been waiting 43 years for that cup

I just noticed something...Of all the teams in the NHL, why would you choose to follow the hapless Leafs? lol...I feel sorry for anyone I know who's been waiting 43 years for that cup

It came down to a few things:

Long history - I always enjoy reading about the history of things, so I wanted a team which had a lot of history to learn.
Young players - The Leafs already had guys like Jonas Gustavvson and Phil Kessel, then they traded for Dion Phaneuf.
Active PSD fanbase - I've only sporadically watched hockey in the past, so I needed a forum which is active enough for me to pick up the flow of things.

Anyway, back to basketball :p It's looking like the Lakers and Blazers are going to put on a good second half, one point game heading into the break...

LaMarcus Aldridge is really stepping up for the Blazers, he has 24 and 10 with about 3 minutes left, and the Blazers lead 84-79. They've been without Brandon Roy for the entire second half as well.

Pau Gasol.

That was some great defense from the Blazers, but still terrible execution from the Lakers. Why didn't we give ourselves a plan B if the first option was defended?

It's not like Kobe is the only guy who can shoot threes for the Lakers...

Great win for the Blazers though. They fought hard without their leader and deserved the win.

Fisher is the epitome of stupidity and selfishness. Kobe's legs are completely shot. Phil doesn't care about the regular season (and said so on Lakers Live last week). Artest is lost out there. Bynum is MIA. Pau wants the glory on a play he has no part in being glorious in. The bench is just terrible. Lamar is consistently being his inconsistent self.

Early exit for the Lakers? Maybe.

The only way I see them having a chance is if the reason for their terrible play this year has been boredom because they simply want to get to the playoffs. If that is the reason, then I can see a totally new Lakers squad emerging in the playoffs with a burst of new found energy.

How about runnerup DPOY Varejao and the Cavs MVP Big Z (who Cavs fans were claiming was the deciding factor in beating Orlando)... He was chilling, when you shoot 9-12, despite being doubled, you're just coasting.

Is that a joke? I can see somebody making an argument in saying that it's among the best supporting casts in the league, but it is far from an open and shut case. And I'd say that the Magic and Lakers both have better casts than Cleveland.

Starting lineup of:

PG: Fisher

SG: Lebron (he'd probably run the 2 slot if he was in LA's lineup.

SF: Artest

PF: Lamar Odom

C: Pau Gasol

With Bynum first off the bench. That's a better team than the Cavs current lineup IMO.

If you take into account how deep the Cavs team is, then they'd be better;

PG - Mo Williams/Daniel Gibson
SG - Kobe Bryant/Delonte West
SF - Anthony Parker/Jamario Moon/Jawad Williams
PF - JJ Hickson/Anderson Varejao
C - Shaquille O'Neal/Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Play CP3 with the Cavs' second lineup and they're better than the Hornets (I'm exaggerating but you get my point)...

Btw Lebron would play the 3 and Artest would man the 2 (better spotup shooter/can defend other SGs better).

They are extremely talented, consistent, and hard working. Also, their talents maximize Lebron's abilities.
