Portland with Kevin Durant this season instead of Oden, how would they have done?

Would this team win the Title this year if that were the case?

PG Miller
SG Roy
SF Durant
PF Aldridge
C Camby

Would they be the top seed out west?

Probably worse.

Dont shoot me.

Is there any GUARANTee that two players that Need to dominate the ball are young and need to prove who is the top dog would mesh well and benefit the team?

Im not sold on it.

I do not like Roy and Durant playing on the same team so I really do not have an answer.

I think they win more regular season games, in 55-57 range, but still can't top the Lakers in a 7 game series.

Durant would have developed differently if drafted by Portland.

no idea

I agree.

It KD's rookie year, he was given the ball and told to shoot whenever. He definitely wouldn't have had that opportunity in Portland.

oh come on, im not saying you, but most of you were saying how greg oden is a beast and how he is the next great center. i may have no been a member of psd yet, but i remember reading back then.

So far Oden is a bust. Anyway you think about it they would be better with KD in the lineup. Worst case scenerio is they could have traded either Roy or KD for another star and been way better.

Its a shame with them taking Oden because i dont ever see him staying healthy for long periods of time. His career will prob be shortened significantly with all these problems.

I hate what if's, but saying Durant would have developed differently is true, but at this point, he would be Durant. Sorry. The Blazers would most likely be a top 3 team. You can't shut down talent like Durant

Giving the Lakers a run for their money.

brandon roy, kevin durant, and lamarcus Aldridge

are you kidding me

Tell that to HIgh Pick Bayless.

Mcmillan Hates Rookies so you can not discount he would be NOW starting to play 12 or 15 mpg.....

portland will never learn, you would think they would choose differently from the first time :pity:

No I don't wanna hear that KD, LA and Roy can't play together. Roy likes to set people up as much as he likes scoring. Theres about 80-100 shots in a game. That's enough...
I think they would be top 3 for sure.

Portland with the KD that was developed by the Sonics/Thunder could be anywhere from 1-3 in the West, but if Portland drafted him, you never know what could happen.

anytime you have a injury prone center with a noticeable limp and looks 40+ years old....you gotta do it!

Players earn minutes. Durant has the ability to do that. Bayless is no Durant.

Good call Hellcrooner. It's absolutely possible that Mcmillan would wait three years to play his #1 overall pick 12 minutes a game while 21 year old 2nd year (25th pick) pro Nicolas Batum got the starts over him.

Seems logical to me.

It was a given that KD would have emerged to be an excellent player, I think portland and the then sonics allowed it.

if the celtics got the first or second pick that year like they should have, their starting lineup right now would be:

rondo
durant
pierce
jefferson
perkins

just saying....

They got Rondo via KG trade.

They got Rondo via KG trade.

that is 100% false, they got rondo from the suns for i believe marcus banks

rondo durant pierce jefferson perkins..... thats a dynasty in the making. it prolongs pierce's career because he wouldn't have to carry the load as the main scorer (durant) and rondo durant jefferson and perkins is a ridiculous young nucleus

sigh

As in Mcburguer has given all the chances in the world to TOP 10 Pick Bayless instead of not allowing him basically any time behind such monsters as Steve Blake  and Sergio rodriguez
