NEW YORK, Apr. 2, 2010 -- The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and the Phoenix Suns' Amar'e Stoudemire today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month presented by Kia Motors, respectively, for games played during March.

Wade led the Heat to a 12-3 record, averaging 26.9 points and 7.5 assists -- both ranked third in the Eastern Conference -- and led the East in steals (2.3 spg). Wade recorded six 30-point games and 12 20-point outings, in Miami's best month since March 2006 (12-3). On March 4, Wade scored 27 points and added a season-high 14 assists in the Heat's overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Wade had six double-doubles in March, including three straight in wins over Golden State, the L.A. Lakers and Atlanta. Wade was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week twice in March. This is his first NBA Player of the Month Award this season.

Stoudemire averaged 27.3 points (second in the Western Conference) on .577 shooting and added 9.9 rebounds, leading the Suns to a Western Conference-best 12-2 month. Stoudemire lead the Suns in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage and tied for an NBA-best seven 30-point games. On March 19, Stourdemire scored 44 points on 16 field goal attempts, the fewest attempts in a 40-point game since the 2007-08 season (Chris Bosh). Phoenix is currently on a nine-game win streak, the longest active streak in the NBA. This is Stoudemire's first NBA Player of the Month Award this season.

Well deserved by both. Leading their respective teams into the playoffs playing great ball.

Don't sleep on the Suns this post-season, I feel they can go pretty damn far with the great ball they have been playing lately.

First month Lebron hasn't won Player of the Month. He was going to have the record.

He was just as good this month as any other, but my vote would've gone to Wade on this one also. Team did great, he was going off, good call.

Lebron averaged 28.3 / 7.9 / 8.7 /1.8 / 1.4 on 50.5 fg%, and his team went 14-1
Wade averaged 26.9 / 5.5 / 7.5 / 2.3 / 1.0 on 49.1 fg%, and his team went 12-3

Lebron averaged 28.3 / 7.9 / 8.7 /1.8 / 1.4 on 50.5 fg%, and his team went 14-1
Wade averaged 26.9 / 5.5 / 7.5 / 2.3 / 1.0 on 49.1 fg%, and his team went 12-3
They cant just give Lebron everything even though he basically earns it. He will get MVP and that is better than player of the month.

Good job for both though, they have been killin this month.

Boohoo, LeBron didn't win one player of the month award. He is a gauranteed lock for back to back MVP's. What more do you want? The Cavs have been dominant all year, and finally Miami has a great month at 12-3, (not including two wins in April so far) with Wade leading the way with little supporting cast. Just not good enough for you is it?

They got bored of voting for LeBron? It's a shame, too. LeBron had a chance to be the first player ever, to sweep the player of the month awards. Would have been one hell of an achievement.

It's not a feel good award. Whichever player had the best month, deserves the award.

They probably voted looking at it this way, whats more impressive, leading the Cavs to an 14-1 record, or leading to the Heat to a 12-3 record.

Thats b.s. Lebron blew Wades stats out of the water. Seriously the league needs to get off Wades dick. LeBron easily was the best player of the month once again.
Guess they just felt bad no one is as good as him ever :)

A Lebron fan saying this? You have just justified your quality of nba knowledge through your statement. Wade is not stern's love-child, Lebron is.

BTW, I was bored, so thanks for the laugh.

Manu deserved it because he has carried the Spurs in wins over some pretty good teams (OKC, Magic, Cavs)

JordansBulls
04-04-2010, 04:08 AM
Why is that?

Because the Heat went from like the 8th seed to the 5th seed and this with really not a good cast. While the Cavs have had a mixture of Shaq, Mo, Jamison along with Bron.

LOLLLL? If anything the league needs to get off Lebron. But seriously... who cares about player of the month when we all know Lebron locks up MVP. Wade deserved it though. I hope Miami can knock out Boston in the playoffs. ANYWAYS... Lets go Raptors !

They dont care, it wont help their side of the debate.
Haven't you noticed that bias homers only see what they want to see. The rest does not exist, or is irrelevant to them.

Not really. Still have the best record in the league and have already cliched it with 5 games left.

Wade has been on quite a tear in recent games. Was he just reserving his legs for a lte playoff push and the first round?
