Would you expect him to be:

1) Top 10-15 player in the NBA

2) Good 2nd option for a superstar player

3) Good 3rd option on a Team

4) Good 4th option on a Team

5) 6th man on a contending team

i really don't expect anything at all out of tmac at this point. he's too unreliable and inconsistent to expect anything from him.

but out of the choices given, taking a wild guess, good 3rd option on a team (best case scenario). however, if injuries continue to plague the remaining of his career i can see him going out iverson style.

I'm thinking a good 2nd option. But I'd love him to be back to what he used to be.

mcgrady claimed he will return to elite posistion with people like wade lebron and stuff. so i expect him to average 25 5 5 and help his team win.

17 or 18 points per game

2nd option is a little iffy, so I'll say a solid 3rd option on the wing. Unless he goes back to the T-Mac of old, but I don't think thats very likely.

15 PER 110 OFF RTG. That would be awesome

could be a solid option off the bench for a contender, but his days of averaging 25 ppg are over due to his serious knee injury.

This could actually be the best thing for him if he REALLY wants to come back. Phoenix's medical staff is amazing. They revitalized Grant Hill and even kept Shaq healthy in his time there.

WTF? Really at 31 years of age you think T-Mac is going to average 25, 5 and 5 ?

Anyways, I see him as a good 2nd or 3rd option. He can still score but he's definitely not the same player he was once was.

Where's the option for injured all season?

Penny Hardaway in Phoenix level of production in Boston or San Antonio depending on how negotiations with Manu/Ray go

I can't even vote. I really don't know.

When he plays and shoots alot for the Knicks he does really well -- like number one option well.

But when he plays little due to injuries, he just isn't effective.

What you can guarantee is that he will miss over half the games due to injury (physical or in his mind) either way he is nothing to rely upon.

T-Mac is done as a star. he's always injured. at nest he's a 3rd option avg 14 a game. and if he's your 1st or 2nd option your team is in trouble

6th man contender

Was he even a top 10 player when healthy and at his peak? Maybe top 10-15 at that point... so I guarantee he will not reach that level. Unless kobe, lebron, durant, chris paul, dwight howard, dwayne wade, tim duncan, danny granger and melo all have season ending injuries next year. Then he might be a top 15 player.

He is a third option on most teams, at best. His role on a contender would be similar to Artest on the Lakers. More of a fourth option... or tied for third with a couple of other players.

Where is the "Lead Cashier at Wal-Mart" option? He would be the best cashier 364 days of the year, but on the day after thanksgiving, t-mac would crumble and not handle the lines!

Here was a thread about Tmac and the highest he ever ranked in the NBA.

He could be an incredible 6th man.

If the Clippers get Wall in the draft, then have he and McGrady come off the bench.

My expectations would be low. What makes people think he would be playing better than right now?

He and Grant Hill were expected to bring some rings to Orlando.
He was spectaculor in his prime.

If he stays on the Knicks he could be a very good third option. Hes no longer the superstar that can carry the team. But he's still very good.

I can recall MANY people calling T-Mac the best player in the league when he was on the Magic. He Shaq and AI were always mentioned as the best overall player.

But to answer the question if he was the third option on a championship team he'd be amazing. Something like Wade / Bosh / T-Mac, LeBron / Mo / T-Mac or Kobe / Gasol / T-Mac. And understood and accepted that role.

I expect about 64 missed games, 7 press conferences, and 3 disputes with coaches.
