Gonna go with Bogut here. Offensively nearly even, Bogut is a better defender and rebounder.

Everyone that picks amare us foolish and just so happens to watch ESPN too much. Real bbq fans know that bogut is the second best big man in the east. The only difference is bogut doesn't get all talked up because he plays for the bucks. Bogut hands down.

What does barbecue have to do with one on one basketball?

I love chicken and ribs too, but noone ever said anything about bogut not being the second best big IN THE EAST

This year? Give me Bogut. Steve Nash and a high-octane Phoenix offense make Amare's numbers look pretty nice, but I think Bogut's the tougher player at this point. He's probably the 2nd best defensive big in the NBA at this point, has size on Amare, and has a more well rounded offensive arsenal. Dude has a sick short hook with his ambidextrous hands. I don't see Amare stopping that without a little luck.

I expected more posts like this. Guess Bogut is still under the radar.

Can Bogut handle Amare's speed or athleticism?

Give me Bogut. While Amare is a much better scorer, Bogut does everything else better. With Bogut, you can build a defense around him and at worst, he is capable of being a 3rd option on a great team.
EDIT: Apparently I didn't read the prompt properly... So I withdraw my vote and simply don't care about a 1 on 1 game.

Andrew Bogut cuz he was an awesome UTAH UTE. And he's quicker than people give him credit for.

I'm a Bucks fan, but Bogut gets bothered by athletic players and Amare could move easier, but I think Bogut would come back and make it a game I say 11-6 in favor of Amare.

Very difficult. Bogut is a good player, defender and rebounder. Most would pick Amare because they see his flash, but Amare has no substance. Mostly all his dunks come from great passes by Nash. In 1 vs 1 Bogut will win because if Bogut gets the ball (and Im assuming they are playing with Keeps) then Amare will never get it back. It would just be blow by after blow by.

Amare > Bogut on offense
Bogut >>>>>>> Amare on D
Bogut > Amare on the boards
Bogut > Amare in terms of lockeroom and leadership

Going with the Aussie on this one, he's playing great basketball this year

You're kidding yourself by picking Bogut... Amare is the obvious choice here.

Also, the entire "Amare only scores more cuz of Phx offense/Nash" can be used against bogut in such a way as "Bogut is their only big man = more rebounds for JUST him." and "Bogut is the only real scorer behind Jennings, he gets more touches because of that." Don't use fallacies as logical arguments, it's in bad taste.

Amare by a MILE.

While Bogut is better defensively and rebounding, if Amar'e has him near the FT line or 3pt line, he can drive and score. If Bogut sits back, Amar'e will knock down the jumper with ease.
As much as I love what Bogut's doing this year, this one is Amar'e all the way.
