I just thought its a little weird that Lebron changed his number in respects for Michael Jordan, and then shortly after that happen Jordan bought the bobcats franchise. I dont even know if the bobcats have any cap room, or if they could make cap room this summer. Is there any possibility that Lebron is playing for the bobcats next year?

The only reason I see him leaving Cleveland is for bigger composure in a bigger market... so I don't see it happening. I think he's going to re-sign anyway.

Would say highly unlikely...would make for a great team though...Jordan has always been pretty cold to Lebron for whatever reason

There is probably more to the number change than just respect for Jordan...I would bet Lebron wants to have his own legendary number

No way. He's most likely staying, and in all honesty its tough seeing him leaving Cleveland, especially if they make the finals or get a ring. If he does leave after either of those scenarios, well then Cavs fans deserve to be radically upset, and LBJ is basically leaving for money instead of rings.

Really if he goes to NYC, he'll be bigger than any athlete and make more money. Even if they could sign one of Wade, Joe Johnson, Bosh, Amare, they still wouldn't be better than Orlando, LA, Denver, or Dallas, cause David Lee would be gone, and basically you have not 1 big, so where are you gonna get the money to sign a decent PF/C? The fact of the matter is, Cleveland has the best role players in the NBA:

Varajao- great rebounder, arguable one of the best post defenders, and is pure energy
Shaq- still unguardable b/c of his size, and plays good D against other bigs
Delonte/Gibson/Parker- 3 great shooters
Moe Williams- one of the best offensive guards in the league
Hickson- great young talent who moves great w/out the ball
Jamison- allstar caliber player, even though he's older now

So basically if LBJ leaves its gonna be more about money than winning, cause really how can you leave a team like the Cavs who are great defensively, and basically have every position covered?

That does not hold much ground these days. Back in the 80's early 90's maybe. But if your a great player you can market yourself anywhere from any team. Is he not known throughout the world? Does he not have his own stores in other countries? lol. He even has stores in NY lol.

The Reasons for Lebron to stay out number the reasons to leave 100 to 1.

I hope he will not go to clippers because he would torn his ACL in his first game for the clippers!

Clippers have the most weird knee injuries in pro basketball history.

Same here. I feel like LeBron really cares about his career and legacy. He wants to be the best player and go down in history as some one big like a MJ, Kobe, Shaq, West, etc. Cleveland is already the best team in the league last year and this year (record wise), he just needs to get that ring.

Leaving Cleveland will only set him back. Although if they don't the championship this year, he might do it if a crazy thing happens (Bosh and LBJ sign in NY or something like that). It won't be as much of a set back.

Yeah, we don't have capspace and Lebron isn't too fond of Larry Brown. My money is on Lebron staying in Cleveland, he'll be one of the most hated figures in sports if he sells out his hometeam.

I am not a English expert but I am pretty sure Lebron isn't going to get "composure" by going to a bigger market.

I think your looking for the word exposure.

The Reasons for Lebron to stay out number the reasons to leave 100 to 1.

I remember Lebron gets a huge pay raise from Nike if he played for New York or LA. Not sure his status right now with Nike though. That was the contract he signed when he came into the league.

Also if you don't think Advertisers will pay Lebron more money if he lived in New York you are crazy. You need to understand that they will be on TV more if he plays for New York. And he also would have way more fans living in New York if he played there. There is also more advertisers in New York than Cleveland. And there is tons of fans outside of New York who are New York fans. Look at the Yankees.
Also having Lebron get more "exposure" in New York will create more fans too because he will be on TV more. It is the NBA's dream to have a huge star in New York. That will allow them to give Lebron and the Knicks way more calls because they have a bigger market. Just like how the Lakers & Celtics are favored by the refs because they are bigger market.

If he wanted to go to Charlotte, it would have to be in a sign and trade and that'd likely mean Diaw and Wallace are goin to Cleveland.

...and I don't think anyone in Charlotte would mind.

EDIT: Sorry didn't realize how old this thread was.

why not just make one of these LBJ threads for every team?

maybe he's going to the Seattle Supersonics or the Rochester Royals....

all this free agent talk before the playoffs even start is beyond frustrating
