View Full Version : Blowouts or Nailbiters?

I was watching the Spurs/Clippers game tonight and after a while, got bored and decided to watch something else because the game quickly became a blowout.
So this begs the question: Do you prefer to watch games that become blowouts pretty quickly (in favor of your team, of course) or games that go down to the wire like the recent Lakers/Magic game? Do you actually sit there and watch if it's a blowout?

I like blowouts only when my team is playing in a decisive game or smth... let's say playoffs... when i don't really care about the game i care about the ending.

i would rather have my team blow a team out, cause you know they will win for sure then. it's imminent.

Regular season, Nailbiters are more exciting, fun, nerve wracking, and just all around crazy. But their only all of these things IF we win =)

Playoffs i pray for a blow-out.

I always love a nailbiter...blowouts are boring because in the end all the benchwarmers come out in the fourth.

Nailbiters because having Kobe on your team with the time running down, there is no one in the same stratosphere as him.

Plus it avoids seeing Adam Morrison get his 5 minutes of PT.

oh obviously you prefer watch your team blow another out. Its fun to watch and so much more relaxing. As for nailbiters, you always remember these as the best games of the season. Like for the Jazz I'd say the win at home to the Cavs where Gianes hit the winner at the buzzer and the crazy comeback in Portland where Boozer nailed a putback at the buzzer and we were down by 18 at one point were our best wins of the season. Stressful to watch though!

I want my teams to blow out everyone they face. But if i'm just watching a game with 2 teams i don't really care about, i want a nailbiter.

Celtics - blowouts --> because it's not about only the current game. It's about future games also. Starters can rest some more minutes, the C's are a vet team, they sure need that rest.

I like watching blowouts with high paced offensive teams in action. The Warriors were prime in this during the Baron days. That spanking they gave Dallas in Game 6, that was just solid! :D

Kobe's 4th in game winning shots. And has a horrible percentage of .250 on those shots.

Doesn't the Warriors play like that all the time?

As in High-paced nail-biters?
Must be exciting to be a Warrior fan I guess.

Anyways, I like blowouts in the playoffs.
But if it's Game 5-7, then nailbiters for sure. :D

It depends.

If you are playing against a team that is close to ranks and there is a lot controversy about who is the better than a blow out is better to watch. If it is a close game, than the guys still say "they won by one point and that was the luckiest shot ever". This is more so for watching football as well.

Close games are great though. I like watching them more, but blowouts are good for bragging rights.

blowouts because it means my team is that much greater. why anyone would want their team to struggle is beyond me

This is silly, true sports fan want their team to rise from adversity. Not cruise to a W, it's gets boring and the team doesn't always play the way that got them there. Also, the Stars sit in the 4th quarter, and everyone wants to see the big names finish out games strong.

Nailbiters. with nailbitters, yu get to see people playing at their best and at their hardest in order to secure a win. + it puts u in suspsense nad makes yu cheear. a blowout is no fun. lmfao its depressing too.

That site is just ridiculous, I remember it having Marion in the Top 3 once for clutch situations. BTW smart@ss, its not updated. Your forgetting Kobe's 7 game winning shots this year.

Once again, there is no one in the league who is as clutch as Kobe. No one.

The thing about the NBA is, any lead can be overcome.

Ie: Last season, the Cavs were down 19pts headed into the 4th quarter, but made a full turn around and beat their opponents. And don't ask who, I don't remember who, but I rememeber talking about it for a while.

To answer the question, I'd rather see my team blow someone out.

Regular season or early playoff rounds: I'm more inclined to watch a nailbiter than a blowout.

Conference Championships and Finals: I want a blowout in my team's favor.

If my team is playing definitely blowout. If it is two other teams playing then I would prefer a good game.
