Jamison is slightly overrated

I don't think any of those guys are underrated..but I guess if I had to choose, it would be Bogut.

J.R. Smith is under 25 years old, averages over 20 off the bench, and is capable of 40 point games. Plus he's a high flyer and can nail 3 pointers like nothing. The bulls traded him for a 40 year old pj brown two years ago. Way to go Mr. Paxson. Underrated players are guys who don't get paid 20 mil a year like Duncan or Bosh.

How many people would put Duncan in their top 5?

I love Joe Johnson, but I think literally none of those players are underrated except for Bogut, he goes under the microscope so much. Everyone else is ALWAYS talked about from EVERY serious media outlet.

OMG everybody is going to be all over Bogut's sack just because of the last (20 games?)
it's clearly Chris Bosh

I've got to go with Bogut because, as of late, Milwaukee has been playing some very good basketball and they've come up on NBA team's radars. Part of that is also due to the addition of Salmons, but mainly because of Bogut's efforts. Before now, Bogut seemed like a big fish in a small pond, these players are typically highly underrated.

Also, Jason Kidd is very underrated.

I don't think Bosh is necessarily "underrated". There was a lot of hype for him going into this season because of the extra work he put forth in the offseason. Everyone knows Bosh is a big name player in today's game.

How do you even make this thread all of the guys being "underrated"? I am sorry but this is stupid... All of these guys are highly regarded as NBA stars... Change the name and make them controversial.

Jamison has been a very good player for many years. this is the first season he's really been a house hold name and thats only because of the trade.

Tim Duncan is underrated but that is by choice. He's more of a low key guy. Does not really care about being in the spot light.

ill go with Jamison followed by Andrew Bogut.

ill go with joe johnson, only bc he really doesn't get the same attention that Melo, Kobe, and Lebron does and he has his team in 3rd place in the eastern conference and is very consistently dominating during games...my opinion

I thought we traded Tyson for Brown and JR, and simply released JR because they felt he didn't fit in?

Duncan. Its hard to explain, partly because people see him as one of the best of all time, but the guys plays as well as his MVP season every year, sometimes his team is as good, sometimes not (this year they have a huge hole at center in and the West that is killing them, and would kill them in the finals against the Cavs or Magic), but despite the fact that he easily has as much impact on the floor as any other player in the league (yes, LBJ and KB24 included) people seldom mention him in the top five, or even the top ten for that matter. I see guys putting LBJ and Kobe above him (which I can understand), but Wade and Melo, Bosh sometimes, Howard, D-Will, CP3, Amare, Nash, Gasol. Bottom line is he steps on the floor and everybody wearing the same jersey as him is instantly a better player. He still commands double teams and zone defences have to keep heavy coverage on him (which opens things up for the guys around him), he is the best front court defender in the league (because unlike guys like Howard Duncan can defend as well twenty feet out as he can in the paint- no disrespect to Howard's interior presence which is the most dominant in the league, jsut saying Duncan is a more versatile defender), and he makes great passes, shoots well and encourages great team play. He's getting older and hasn't one a ring in a few years, so it seems like people forget, but anybody who steps out and watches him play knows he is every bit as good as he was when he won MVP, and is as good as anybody in the league, even if his stats don't make it look that way. The Spurs are a little out of sync this season (in part due to new faces, in part due to the hole at center), but Duncan has been stellar and continues to be a treat to watch and his team seems to always be in the game, even when they are playing poorly.

He is definitely one of the most underrated guys in the league. He's tough as **** and plays a lot bigger than a 6'3 two guard. He's definitely one of my favorite players.

ya i think he is unnerrated man:clap: but i think everyone on that list could be unnderrated for instance imagine pierce or joe johnson in kobes shows on the lakers or tim duncan on boston instead of kg i think that they would be overrated if they were in dif situations and i feel that pierce, jamison johnson, duncan all do more then what they ared credited for

Hes quite streaky. When his torch is on hes killing the other team, when its off hes killing his team. That is in NO WAY underrated

Duncan is better than both and most people say the same thing as you, past his time, despite him playing near his peak level and possessing the 3rd best PER in the league.

Bogut is the only one that belongs on that list. How is Duncan underrated? He's on the decline so naturally he's not going to receive the recognition he once did; that goes for a few guys on the list actually.

How is Pierce on this list? He's one of the more overrated players in the league.

Grizzly Adams

I'd go with Chauncey Billups.

Raoul Duke
03-11-2010, 07:51 PM
I hate to say it, but I'd go with Anderson Varejao. I hate the guy, with a passion, but he is incredibly underrated for all the little things he does. I also think David Lee is another one. Lee could put up 30/8/8 like Lebron, and people would still insist that it's because he plays in an up-tempo system.

I voted for Bogut because I think he's the most underrated amongst the players listed in the poll.

The most underrated player isn't even on the list thus adding to his underrated status and that is Chancey Billups.
