UPDATE: This thread is not: "Look how good the Mavs are, they beat Chicago!" This thread is simply to see where people think the Mav's chances are in the playoffs as of now. Yes, everyone, I am a Maverick fan, but even I presonally do not believe the Mavericks are better than the Lakers, yet. I'm just seeing where everyone stands as far as the top team in the West.

The Dallas Mavericks have increased their win streak to 11 as they beat the Chicago Bulls in Chicago. Chicago is currently, only, a #7 seed if the playoffs were to start today, but the way the Mavericks won this is quite frankly impressive. They didn't have their starting center(Brendan Haywood), their backup center(Erick Dampier), and the former 6th man of the year, Jason Terry. Not to mention this was the 2nd game of a back to back.

The most intriguing thing about this 11 game win streak, is that it comes almost right after their trade for Butler, Haywood, and Stevenson.

So the question comes up. Who are you guys going to take in the playoffs, the Mavericks or the Lakers?

Wait, they beat the Bulls IN Chicago?!

Book em for the Finals now.....

11 Straight? This is unheard of. To the finals.

EPIC.

Come on dude, we don't need a new Dallas thread up after every win.

Yes, it was an impressive win on the road shorthanded with only eight players, but remember, Golden State did the exact same thing to us with eight players too.

As for the DAL-LA debate, let's wait until the end of the regular season to speculate that.

When the Mavs win 22 in a row without Dirk or key players then get back at me, but until then im not impressed.

The Houston Rockets run in 07-08 was more impressive because they did it without Yao.

Please ignore Macfitz, no Mavs fan with a brain would pick the Mavs over the Lakers, considering they're the defending champs and have a better record AND have blown us out by like 40 this season. As st3voness said, let's let this play out and I can't wait for the playoffs. And yeah, beating the Bulls, no matter how injured, is NEVER thread worthy.

And this is thread worthy why? But the way the Mavericks won this is quite frankly amazing...you beat the Bulls, with injuries to Rose, Noah (out), Deng and Taj. That's four starters. Good win, but it's far from amazing.

I think a Roddy Beaubois thread would have been more appropriate. This kid is balling. If he was given more playing time like he has the past few games, he would be in the discussion of ROY (Evans would still get it). He shoots over 50% from FG, over 40% from 3-pt, and 80% from FT. I'm in love.

Carlisle needs to wake up.

ROY isn't decided by shooting percentages, It's decided by all-around play.

I have a Delorean and I went to the 2010 NBA Finals. Mavs get swept by New Jersey who somehow got the 8th seed. Epic Finals... so epic that the Nets won in 3 games.

True Story...

The thread should be entitled; "Milwaukee Bucks continure to suprise."

They beat the Cavs, albeit no Lebron James. But still, the Bucks have gone 9-1 since aquiring John Salmons. They deserve some recognition.

Don't see a need to keep making threads about the Mavs. They're playing better since the trade-as hoped. However, let's see what happens in the playoffs. A streak is nice, but meaningless in the overall scheme of things. I'm sick and tired of the Mavs vs. LA/Denver type threads. Both LA and Denver are teams that proved their superiority in last year's playoffs. Let's see how it all plays out this year.
And dammit-some of you need to stop lumping in all Mavs fans as delusional homers.

irony = people complaining that this thread is pointless, meaningless, dumb, a waste of time, but yet take the time out of their day to respond to the thread. Not saying I think this thread should have been made but if you find it dumb what does it say to the fact that you are actually taking time out of your life to respond to it?

MacFitz92
03-07-2010, 03:20 AM
Irony = It is natural for people to constantly measure up the No.1 team in the West and the No.2 team in the West. If anyone has a problem with that, then quit watching sports.

So you Mav fans think youve already surpassed the Nuggets?

Surpassed them as what. It's still regular season, and we're only half a game up.

You guys take everything way out of porportion. I'm just trying to see where the Mavericks stand as far as where people see them in the playoffs. A great team to compare when doing so is the Lakers. They won they championship last year, and they are the #1 seed.

If you can't take hearing talk about who will go farther in the playoffs between, arguably, the two best teams in the West, then just stop watching sports, because people compare top teams all the time.

HoopsDrive
03-07-2010, 01:55 PM
Yep, let's make a new Mavs team every time they ****ing beat another team to extend their winning streak OR beat a team that is a contender for the title OR if they beat a team without 2-3 of their main player.

Mavs win a game! We're going to the finals BABY!

No.

Please start threads like this in the team forum. There's no need to ask people's opinions about how good your team is in the NBA forum.
