View Full Version : Travis Diener Waived: Any Takers?

I haven't seen this guy play much, but looking at his stat line he seems to be a decnet rebounder for his sixe and position (4+ boards per-36 minutes in 09), and his assist-to-turnover ration is disgustingly amazing! Better than 5-1 over the last three years. His shooting percentages have never been so impressive, but this guy has seem limited minutes with the Pacers and on a team that is in need of a point guard, or a back up point guard, I think this guy could provide some serious help, he's just never gotten a break.

Pacers fans may have a better idea about Travis Diener's abilities? Do the pros outweigh the cons? Is he bad on D? Does his shooting make him too much of a liability? Can this guy become a legit point guard getting regular minutes (as a back-up or starter). His passing numbers are perhaps the best in the league, but he's only had limited minutes.

Thoughts? And I'd love to hear from Pacers fans on this most especially, or anybody who has really gotten to watch this guy play.

Dallas needs a backup PG since our idiot coach won't play Roddy B

Ummmm not to burst your bubble but he already signed with the Blazers. Blazers get some much needed shooting depth at the 3rd pg. He should get about 10 mins a game.

Not Bad!

Travis Diener's 28th birthday is Monday and his present is a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Oregonian has learned the Blazers will sign the former Indiana Pacers guard today to occupy their 15th roster spot once he clears waivers.

I loved Diener when he was in Orlando. I'd take him back if it weren't for our plethora of guards.

But he's been swooped by the Blazers already.

Yeah looks like the Blazers already got him. Good back-up PG, too bad Indiana has too many of those.

He's signing with the blazers which is why the Pacers cut him.

Indiana Pacers released guard Travis Diener on Monday after the point-guard out of Marquette played in just four games this season. The release was welcome by Deiner who will now reportedly sign with the Portland Trailblazers.
