Who you think will win I think. Of course it's customary to predict your favourite team to win if they're in any position to make the play-offs...:p

shep33
02-28-2010, 05:48 PM
Wow LA are just beating themselves. 15 turnovers and a majority of them weren't even off of pressure D, but just horrible offense. Lazy D gets nuggets 23 freethrow attempts, and the Lakers bigs are playing soft again, especially Pau. They're only down 9 which is an amazement, even though realistically they should be down 20.

Are you not watching the game?

The Nuggets are in line to go 3-0 against the Lakers. They seem to have their number on every night. The Nuggets are a team that play physical defense. They're defensive oriented. They've held Kobe Bryant to just four points!

Loving this start to the second half, the Lakers need to keep it up. They have one of the best records in the league but they need to start thinking of themselves as underdogs because the Nuggets have just pushed them around this season.

The Lakers need to look at themselves as the underdogs and play like they've got nothing to lose

It's one thing to be banging bodies, but it's another thing to be simply using your arm as a defense mechanism to push the guy out of the way to get good post-up floor position or simply to retrieve the ball on an out of bounds play. Melo was doing that all game, and with that stupid cartoon smile Melo had on all game, you could see that TruWarier37 was getting in his head.

I ddin't like the fact that he was just chucking up shots in that final minute, giving Denver extra possessions when he ddin't have to. Just simply run out the clock and keep the ball moving. Plain and simple.

shep33
02-28-2010, 07:40 PM
When the Lakers play hard like they did in the 2nd half, they're close to unbeatable. If anyone watched the games vs the Cavs and the other 2 against the Nuggets, they just don't give 100% sometimes which is inexcuseable. They know that they'll turn it on in the playoffs but there intensity should pick up a bit in the last 20 some games of the year.

The same way yall was complaining about J.R. reaching on Kobe when we was stealing the ball, was the same way Artest was going with Melo.....I dont give a damn who you are, you would have to be bias if you think that was a justified foul call.

_KB24_
02-28-2010, 08:10 PM
The last call on Melo was weak. They were hustling and tussling the whole game. Their were much more plays in the 1st that could have been called against both sides than that one. But I think our defensive intensity won us the game at the end. We suffocated Denver in the second half. Despite the numbers, Kobe played a good 4th and facilitaed amazingly.

FALSE

It's wasn't so much of the reaching, but it was mostly JR wrapping up Bryant back's with his off arm while trying to swipe at the ball with the other hand when his teammates were trying to get Kobe the ball in the post. Ron was bodying up Melo while Melo was trying to use his arm to push away Ron on every possession, including a blatant one when Melo was trying to retrieve the ball from an out of bounds play. Hell, they replayed that play to show how obvious it was.

I agree with that I dont think Melo should of fouled out for that play. When its down to the final minutes and a game so close and so important to both teams I dont think you can call that foul even if it was a foul it wasnt gonna change the game much I mean ya Melo gets to where he wants and positions himself but still you dont call that foul.

I dont think they call that foul in the playoffs. should of let it be but they didn't either way Great game by the Nuggets.

Andrew (although he struggles sometimes) is our only answer to the big phsycal players we have to play against. Plus having two ball dominators could easily screw up the offense. We don't want to pay anyone $20 million to be a spot up shooter.

If anything they're more likely to call that one during the play-offs. Last year they wouldn't let anything which might suggest physical play go uncalled. The pinnacle came in the first two games between the Lakers and Nuggets, where the teams combined to shoot 131 free throws (about ten per game more than average per team).

Now, about the Carmelo foul (which I missed because of a feed problem, but saw this morning on the highlights) - it was a brutally awful call. Neither Carmelo or Ron were doing anything which hadn't been happening for the whole game. But that was the fourth quarter in this game, a few touch calls got called for no reason, against both teams. Unfortunately this is just NBA officiating, the refs will do a 180 in how they call the game quite often in the fourth quarter. It's very frustrating.

With that being said, I do think the Lakers were the better team last night and deserved to win the game. It's just a shame that NBA games continue to be cheapened by painfully inconsistent officiating.
