Here's a thread solely provided to the fans of REAL basketball. Basketball today has no rhythm, has no balls, fouls for every call and if you notice, favors the book keepers and if you don't notice then your ignorant. 60's, 70's 80's even 90's were the best era's of basketball. Today has totally lost the meaing of playing hard. I caught (not going to mention names) someone picking their nose the other day waiting for a play to develop. Sickening. Here's to the fans of real hard nosed, giving up my body, getting hammered basketball fans.

Post your thoughts here on what and why the NBA needs to do to get back to the way it was. Only mature posters please. 30 - 70 years of age.

Define REAL basketball.

Actually, don't. Basketball is as much about sport as it is about entertainment. It changes over time and is not ingrained. It's basic rules will always be the same but it's style and system will change over the course of time. What was enjoyable and acceptable back then may not be today or may come back in the future.

How can you compare the quality of eras in terms of basketball and call one better than the other? Because it lacks toughness? Because it has lost an edge? The game is much faster now and the level of athleticism is beyond any seen before. The level of physicality in today's game is tremendous, well beyond that in the past. That's what's enjoyable and called for today, there's no real-unreal or right-wrong here.

I understand what you are saying. The problem is that there IS a level of athleticism between era's. All decades are pretty much the same level of atheticism. The problem is the corrupness of the game today has reached new heights. Where there are bigs, there are bigs, where there are PG's there are PG's. Size, strength doesn't matter. It has a lot to do with corporate greed that thrives among the stars. For example, Chris Anderson wouldn't get half the calls if he drove in the lane that Lebron would get. Or, Ben Gordon would get a traveling call on a swift move around Kobe where Kobe wouldn't...
