I hate to sound like one of those homerish bull fans but.....22???????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!

Well I got a couple things to say on that.

A list of 25 top names is incredibly hard to arrange. Criteria given was: this season, including injuries, team success, big shots, etc. I'm sure you could make a case for him being higher. He is CURRENTLY playing at a higher level. But both the Bulls AND Rose got off to a slow start which hurt his ranking in my list. But again, I'm sure a case could be made for him to be higher. These things are quite subjective.

I actually think that is too low. Everyone expected the Bulls to be far worse this year with Ben Gordon gone and we are doing better than we were last year. Not to mention Rose was an allstar this season and at one point was 8th in MVP Voting.

How the hell is Durant a top 3 player in the league?! last time i checked, he hasn't hit any game winners, and plenty of teams have better records than the Thunder. Dirk, Williams, Howard, and Melo should be ahead of him. Nobody seems to get that Durant takes 25+ shots a night to get his 30 points. lol

Some people r astonded by the fact that he scores 30 a game but fail 2 see that it takes for him 2 put up 25 shots 4 him 2 get it. Those that put wade ahead of melo must have a man crush, not trying 2 take anything away from what he's done, but we're talking about "this years" performance, not 2 or 3 years ago. Melo has been a better player, "this year" and is top 3 over all, "this year"

I put Durant at 3 not only because of the streak he had at scoring but because he is a great defender and taking what should be a team fighting for 8th seed or lower to a team that just might make the playoffs.. The fact that, that team even won 9 in a row has to say something for its superstar.

Melo's missed 13 games "this year." I actually had him 3rd on my list, but bumped him down as we were asked to account for injuries in our lists too.

I remember a lot of people believing the Bulls would have to make a collective effort to make up for his scoring and if they did that they'd be ok.. a lot of people also hoped Deng would return to form but no one was really expecting it. I think Hollinger said something about *if* Deng could post numbers like he once did, etc...

a) not deserving enough to make your list?
b) snubbed for dashing Phoenix's playoffs hopes on many occasions?
or
c) an oversight?

I could be alright with sliding him down a few spots, but no further down than top 15. He's been a beast this year. Utah has been playing excellent, in spite of giving away Brewer and Maynor and Boozer has been very efficient.

Actually it was an oversight.. I actually like Duncans game. I will say I wont rank him high up there because I think there are other players that are playing harder but I would most likely have him 19 and bump carter off the list.

this list is horrible! 1) you have 2 bobcats in the top 15 yet they wouldn't even be in the playoffs if the season ended today. 2) Boozer didn't even make the All Star team and you have him #7 3) A team with 5 wins cant have a player top 25 regardless of stats (Lopez) 4) Monta Ellis is one of the most inefficient players in the league 5) so much more but I'm too tired ;)

Example of my point on duant, shot the ball against the spurs 19 times and ende up with 21. Where's the efficiency? Don't get me wrong again, like d wade, there both balling, But Melo this year is a bit better, dont get it twisted, though my screen name is what it is, doesn't mean I won't give credit wher its do, 4 the past 3 to 4 years ive always wanted to say melo was the best when it came 2 his draft class, but when it came time 4 real talk, I knew better than 2 say so, because it wasn't true, I just wanted it 2 be, but "this year" I can say with conviction that melo may not be better than lebron or kobe, but he is better than wade "this year" and is the third best player in the game "this year". It's about time some of u give him his due, HATE EM OR LOVE EM, give him his due, at least 4 "this year"

I will say I had a hard time deciding between Melo and Durant. The only reason I put durant at 3 was because Melo has a way way better team than Durrant. You do have a nice arguement tho.

Yes your rigt on what u say, as far as fg%, rebounds, and blocks, but I watch both play, and can say without a doubt melo gets doubled alot more than durant, and takes more of a physial beating than durant does, so that explains the fg%, durant is at 47% and melo is at 46% not that big of a difference considering melo goes through more physial punishment and gets doubled more, as 4 rebounding, there woule be something wrong if he wasn't. considering he's 6"11. FT% again not that big of a difference. Im still sticking with Melo on this, with durant being right behind him at 4

Durant is not better than Wade, He has a better team surrounded by him. A greater player is one that carries the team by himself and makes team mates look good. Rondo is not a top 25 player as well. If I was surrounded by Superstar players, I would get right open all the time, I would have been a top 25 player too. Dirk and Nash have no defense to be a top 10 guy.

A list of the top PGs:

ur wrong durant takes more shots, durants fga for this year is 1,143, Melo's fga is 923, and durant who's 6"11 avg 7rpg melo who has a better rebounding team than durant avg 6rpg, so just by the fact melo has a better rebounding team, I'll give melo the edge there, I give durant the edge by just a smudge when it comes to ft% 88% 2 melo's 84%, but the better passer is Melo, everything else is the same, advantage still goes to melo.

wait, hold on.... did you just say Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook are the 2 best PGs in the NBA?! your crazy!!

A list of the top PGs:

1. Steve Nash
2. Deron Williams
3. Chauncey Billups
4. Chris Paul
5.Rajon Rondo- ask anyone in Boston, Rondo is the most valuable on the Celtics, over KG, Pierce, and Ray
6.Derrick Rose

Westbrook... not even in the top 10 for best PG

"among the best" do you know what that means. Rose is better than Billups. Westbrook is going to show his mettle in the playoffs.

Derrick Rose- PPG APG SPG 3P% FT%
19.9 5.8 0.8 .240 .764

Chauncey Billups- PPG APG SPG 3P% FT%
19.8 6.1 1.2 .425 .900

hmmm seems to me that the #2 option in the 37-19 Denver Nuggets is better than the #1 option in the 30-27 Chicago Bulls, despite having 0.1 ppg less, 0.3 apg more, 0.4 spg more, .185 3pt% better, and .136 ft% better

PSD, gimme ur opinion on these stats, how it clearly shows that Billups is the same, if not better than, Derrick Rose, plus Billups IS A WINNER!!!

No doubt, I feel u on everything u said, especially the part about duant having to take 25 shots to get 30.

What are you talking about? Durant puts up 29.8ppg on 20.4FGA per game. That's crazy efficient and not even close to "25 shots to get 30." Durant has been better than anyone this year not named Lebron, and yes, that includes Kobe.

Ur wrong melo played in 12 less games so he has less total shot attempted by he attemps 21.5 shots per game and averages 29.1 ppg. Durant averages 20.4 shots per game and 29.8 ppg. So not only does he score more points he takes less shot to.

HAH @ comparing the cumulative numbers from someone who has missed two weeks worth of games to a player who hasn't missed one. Now that's desperate. The bottom line is that other than Lebron, Durant is the most efficient scorer in the league. And he already a better shooter than Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Melo, etc. **** he's even a better all around shooter than Jordan was.

When it's all said and done, I have a feeling that it won't be a stretch to call Durant the best shooting SuperStar of all time [38% on three for the year with the past 2 months being at 50%, 42% from there last year. Nearly 90% from the line at 10 a game. A dagger for a midrange jumper... It's just sick].

I might be completely overlooking someone? But I don't think so.

this list is horrible!

Whatever man, Im sure i'd find you list horrible too. I forgot Dwight in my list, it wasnt intentional but he belongs in there.

GForce and Jackson are both having career years, i dont really get what your beef is there. Maybe both in the top 15 is a stretch but they both are in the top 25

Boozer is averaging 20pts 11 rebs per game on the hottest team in the NBA who is 2nd in the West

Lopez is playing extremely well. So what if his team blows. This is my top 25 PLAYERS, not TEAMS

Monta is in that 25-30 range.

No.

No.

And whoever said earlier that Pierce is way better than Roy, I'd have to disagree there. I think like the rest of the Celtics except for Rondo, Paul is falling off a bit this year. Roy's now the better player.

And Jackson is way too inconsistent and too much of a turnover prone shotchucker for him to be considered even in the top 25. Wallace has a case to be at the fringe.

*And Crooner's right, Pau is absolutely top 25. These lists are majorly subjective, but I'd put him somewhere around 15-18th. If he wasn't so adverse to being clutch he'd have a strong case as a top 8-10 player.

How the hell is Durant a top 3 player in the league?! last time i checked, he hasn't hit any game winners, and plenty of teams have better records than the Thunder. Dirk, Williams, Howard, and Melo should be ahead of him. Nobody seems to get that Durant takes 25+ shots a night to get his 30 points. lol

47% FG and 38% from 3... thats efficient. Takes him like 16 shots to get 30.... less including FTs. He doesn't need to hit game winners because the Thunder are actually leading during most games.

I am entitled to my opinion, and I judge players by their impact on their team this season so far. You're right Boozer is arguably not the best player on his team, but he has more impact on the teams success so far mor than Deron Williams. Boozer, Gasols, Bogut and Noah play their role exceptionally and are always ready to play....Howard is no15 because he is not as consistent as the rest, he's obviously better than them but I look at individual impact on the team rather than stats.

Boozer isn't even the best player on the Jazz.
Noah this high is ridiculous, especially when Rose is the corner stone (Seeing how the Bulls offered Deng and Noah for Bosh).
Josh Smith over Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford? Do you watch basketball?
You clearly don't seeing as how you think the Bucks are rolling... (1 game over .500 isn't ROLLING).
I'm not even going to talk about how you put Rooks over Rose, Deron and JJ.

I live in Atlanta and i go watch their games occasionally. Josh Smith is more valuable to the Hawks than Joe Johnson..... and who the heck is Jamal Crawford? the guy shows up 1 out of every 5 games.

iwant to know why you think melo is below wade considering record and stats?

im guessing it has to do with the fact that he has better stats and gets more out of his teams.

i have posted this once, and i'll do it again. Derrick Rose is not that good. You can't just look at stats to see how good somebody is. You have to see how they integrate with their teammates. Steve Nash is the best PG in the NBA, for what he does on the court. Deron Williams is #2, for he has the Jazz the 4th best in the West: 10 assists in the first half last night. #3, Chauncey- he is leading Denver to the #2 in the West, and is playing a lot better than most in the NBA. #4, Rajon Rondo- the most valuable on the Celtics. Sure, he doesn't get the stats like some others, but when he plays well, Boston wins games. He is a great defensive PG, and averages 9.8 APG. As for Derrick Rose, i dont know where to put him. He has good, not great stats, but he is not all about the team. His Bulls are 2 games over .500, the lowest winning percentage out of the PGs i've listed previously. And, as said on ESPN yesterday, the Bulls are like 22-7 with Kirk Hinrick in the starting lineup. He is the one playing PG, not Rose. So for all those "Derrick Rose is better than Rondo", "Derrick Rose should be higher", they are unjust and just plainly, bad. Look, im not a Rose hater. I am a huge John Calipari fan, and The Rose-CDR regime, the Tyreke Evans regime, and now the John Wall-Demarcus Cousins regime are all great. But no, Rose is not better than the 4 listed above. And you can make a case for Jason Kidd up there too, 3rd in the West, about 10ppg, 10apg, 2spg.

Just saying it, for everyone to hear.

 for having DRose at #9 and Rondo nowhere near it! not sure about the rest tho.

Yes, congrats, by putting Rose at 9 and leaving Rondo out of the top 25, that list loses all credibility. Not to metion he put Durant down at 7. I hope you were kidding.
