Lets say a marginal player gets traded at deadline ( Milicic, Tyrus thomas, S rodriguez etc)

and in its new team he starts playing much more minutes and doing much much better than before?

Is it enough time to award him the MIP?

Not unless they improve a LOT. But it probably helps a lot if they're European (Milicic) and better yet Spanish (Sergio).

btw i just thought of th first three names that popped into my mind.

two are euros.

Go figure an european dude that its more familiar with euros since they make the news more in his countrys newspapers.

what a shame.

he had one so so game one BAD game ( altouh he got 8 steals) and a good game today.

Im nto sold on him yet.

But knicks fans are really happy wiht him

and he seems to be going to get 3o mpg so his stats should improve a ton.....

Yea he looked awesome today, he was on pace for a triple double in the first half, cooled off afterwards.

They'd have to have a mega second half to be considered for it. Something like, Darko averaging 20/10 for the rest of the year and helping his team win. Not just filling up stats cuz his team isn't very good.

that's quite intriguing. I think the voters will be against doing something like that. But if that player puts up amazing numbers and lead his team to a better second half and maybe takes over for an injured player on a good team and leads them to the playoffs IMO he should be strongly considered.

Well they were watching Duhon run the team lol....

But No, i dont think 30 games is just cause to win MIP. On a related topic, I dont think a 2nd year player should win it either. A 2nd year player is SUPPOSED to improve from his rookie year.
