Why is it always: We played a bad game but still came close!

If you go into a cemetary and look on a tombstone, it doesn't say that the dead person ALMOST lived through the car accident. It doesn't say that they only died because they had a bad/unlucky day.

Some of you Lakers fans just need to l2cope with losing. It happens. Dallas outplayed them tonight and made them play bad. That doesn't mean Dallas is better - I still think LA are favorites to win the title. LA will be the team to beat until and if they lose in the playoffs.

10 minutes of Dampier backing up Haywood is a HELL of a lot better of 10 minutes of Najera backing up Haywood. Najera was the only Maverick player that was a negative on the floor.

And talent wise Butler is easily the 2nd best player.

Yeah Dampier is really underated, yeah sure.

As for Najera, I didn't see him do anything productive out there, but he still didn't hurt the team when he was on the floor. Actually he did made a sweet pass to Marion, in which he was right under the basket for an easy lay in, but couldn't hold onto it.

Dirk was amazing in the 4th. Terry absolutely lit Fisher up. I don't know how he his is till getting minutes at the end when he is the worst defensive PG in the league and can't hit a three to save his life anymore.

The truth is the Lakers are 7-8 vs.the top 8 teams in the NBA. They've been owned by Cleveland. Their 0-2 to the Nuggets. They tied 2-2 with the Mavs. And they are 1-1 vs. Boston. The Lakers are nowhere near what they were last year in an overall weak west. This year the west is considerably better and it showed. And the fact that Dallas won while playing 4 vs. 5 is sad in and of itself. And no don't tell me Deshawn Stevenson is good or legit he averages a career 6 ppg. He was merely just a bum throw in that we had to take to get Caron and Haywood. Face it Laker fans it's over. I'm sure you will all talk about Kobe's game winners vs. the likes of Memphis and Sacramento or maybe Miami. You will all probably tell me about how he scored 50 vs. the Knicks. But really, you see none of this against elite teams and the 7-8 record shows that........

Yup, Damp is going to be a big help. Way better than Najera trying to guard 7 footers. Do you guys have any other player at 6'9 or over?We have 4 players 6'10 and taller, the rest are 6'8 and shorter

Dirk, Haywood, Dampier, and Thomas. Thomas should be back in time for the last month of the season and playoffs...he's out for personal family issues.

Really dont let 1 game get to your head. Remeber this is still a team you'll face in the playoffs and if the Mavs end up losing to the Lakers your gonna get a S**t load of crap from Laker fans that you dont want so dont start that your'll embarrass yourself.

It was a great game for the Mavs good win Haywood was solid but Terry had a GREAT game and him and Dirk is what got it done for the Mavs last night.

Damp shuld be a huge upgrade when he is back. Not much of a drop off when he comes in for Haywood compared to Najera.

Exactly...a 6'8 Najera has been destroyed by D.Howard, Bynum, even J.O'neal. Damp is 6'11 and very bulky, and although he isn't an offensive threat, he can rebound and block shots almost as well as Haywood. 33 minutes of Haywood and 15 minutes of Damp is what I would expect when he returns.
