Well, the Wizards are not doing themselves any favor by winning games lately, why position yourself to miss the play-offs and less chances at a better lottery ticket?

The Heat should do the same thing. They might not make the playoffs and if they do, they will be out in round 1.

Stop baiting, no one mentioned the Heat.

Well that was quick, that is probably one of the worst things to happen after a trade. Your end of the bargain has a season ending injury and now your worse off than before.

With all of his issues he needed to be healthy and playing well, I doubt very seriously Washington picks up his option for next year

The Wiz have won 3 out of 4 since the trade, that is 2 less W's than the Nets have all year.

I'm confused, it says 2010-2011 in the article. They meant the rest of 2009-2010, right?

Wizards lose Josh Howard for season to torn ACL

The Washington Wizards said Tuesday that forward Josh Howard(notes) will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Howard was injured Monday night in Washington’s win over the Chicago Bulls, only his fourth game with the Wizards since being acquired from Dallas in a seven-player trade on Feb. 13. He collided with the Bulls’ Flip Murray(notes) with 4:23 to play in the first quarter and stayed on the floor for a minute before being helped off the court by two trainers.

Howard started three games for Washington and scored 14.5 points a game to help the Wizards go 3-1 since the deal, which sent starter Caron Butler(notes) to the Mavericks.

Howard has averaged 15.3 points and 6.0 rebounds since his 2003-04 rookie season with the Mavs.

No decision has been announced on whether Howard would have surgery.

“We’re disappointed for Josh personally. He did an outstanding job,” Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said. “We feel bad for him. The guys will have to step up in his absence.

“He was excited to be here.”

Without Howard, Washington has just 10 players on the active roster. Gilbert Arenas(notes) and Javaris Crittenton(notes) are suspended for the season for carrying guns in the locker room, and two other players, Zyundras Ilgauskas and Mike James(notes), are seeking buyouts. Ilgauskas was acquired from Cleveland in a trade for Antawn Jamison(notes) on Feb. 16, and Grunfeld said that “we’re making progress” in buyout talks.

Al Thornton(notes), acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the three-team deal featuring Jamison, will likely start in Howard’s place when Washington plays Memphis on Wednesday night.

“We’re going to be short-handed,” Grunfeld said. “We’ll look around and see what’s out there, but no one will be able to do what he did.”

Honestly do people even check the forum before making news topics? There's already a couple threads on this that are still on the front page.

In before the lock.
