Wow, some of these still sound like recent events to me.

When I was a teenager, what I remember most...

- The Kings were in Kansas City, not Sacramento.

- The San Antonio Spurs played in the Eastern Conference.

- The Celtics and 76ers were the biggest, baddest rivalry in the East, and if you were lucky enough to have an Apple II, Commodore 64, or Atari, you played out the rivalry in the game "One on One."

- When you heard Let It Flow, you knew it was an homage crafted by one of the finest legendary jazz greats (Grover Washington, Jr.) about about THE greatest above the rim player of his time (Dr. J.)... and not some urban anthem for women who routinely blamed men for the bad decisions that they made, as sung by Toni Braxton.

- Kareem getting hurt in Game 5 of the Finals. Brent Musburger gushing over Magic Johnson's Game 6 performance, which helped clench his first title as a Laker.

Stephon Marbury was actually good, Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp were scary when the Supersonics existed and were good, John Stockton was still playing, Jordan retired and broke my heart, but decided to play with my emotions and unretire wearing the 4-5. Isaiah Rider was one of my favorites lol. Bulls vs. Hawks was always fun to watch, Bulls vs. Pacers was always fun to watch too. Bulls vs. Detroit, NYK, Miami were all fun to watch. Kobe Bryant was my favorite behind Jordan even though everyone hated the guy for being extremely cocky, and I remember buying the Kobe II's from adidas for Basketball season in the 7th grade (yeah the space boots and yes I did LOVE them).

Yup. Gotta agree on Marbury. Even with the Knicks the guy would have games of like 40 points and 12 assists but they'd lose because, well, Marbury is a loser. The Nets got rid of him and became the class of the East. The Suns got rid of him and Nash became MVP. It seems to me like one formula for success is acquire Steph, then trade him away the next year.
