View Full Version : Bosh "Free Agency Much Ado About Nothing"

Sn1ch_Turna

Bosh addresses alot of the media hype surrounding free agency, shares an interesting analogy of 2010 FA.

"It's like a bad movie. You know what I mean? Everybody's, 'Oh, this is coming out, it's coming out.' And then it finally comes out and it's not what you thought it was."

"Overhyped situations," Bosh said, "never play out the way you think it would."

LINK: http://www.nba.com/2010/news/features/scott_howard_cooper/02/23/free.agents/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

I like the analogy he makes, and I think the whole situation is a media dream (esp in NYC, where media is so saturated) something to talk about - write countless unfactual articles about... it sells... but in the end how likely is any of it?

actually no, its a discussion about unfounded hype, created by media and fans who alike know nothing about players' intentions... I dont know if hes staying, but hes right about hype... and I think words get put into his mouth more then wade or james, and hes def frustrated with that

Answer to the poll question. Boozer is must likely to leave in my opinion. Utah has money invested in another PF (Millsap) for long-term and has been cutting costs for some time.

I like the comparision because that basically what will happen imo.

NY media had made this 2010 to be a year to be remebered, when in reality its just a way for the FA's to boost their value to an all time high and resign to the best situation for themselves.

LBJ going to NY is like Wade going to Chicago, Bosh joining Wade in Miami, the Knick's getting 2 Max, a Rose and Joe Johnson tandem, a LBJ to Clippers surprise, every FA staying in their own city, etc

Yeah it can happen but it probably won't with the exception of 1 or 2 players.

and really unlike other teams like miami and clev if bosh leaves raptors wont be crippled they wont be nearly as good but with a replacement they could possibly make the playoffs 33- 40 wins

Chicago shy's away from making moves for low post scorers.
Also NY actually has pieces to S/T for Bosh if he wishes to take that root. With Toronto signing Hedo I don't see them wanting a long contract like Deng imo

Doesn't mean it'll happen. Still think he stays in Toronto but I don't see him going to Chicago at all.

New roster regardless, if Bosh is the main target and they actually acquire him they can literally surround him with anyone he wants whether it be a star or a bunch of role players. That's the beauty of having so much CAP and an 11 million expiring to dangle in 2011 when NY is a buyer.

Once again, not saying it will happen but NY and even Miami have more flexibility to get Bosh then Chicago does.

not sure about that, but I'm in the minority anyway. I'd rather have Wade as our first target then Bosh second. Im good with adding Wade and having Taj and Warrick as our PF's. Like I said I'm in the minority, but I wouldnt sneeze at adding Bosh either.

Wilson Chandler and Gallinari are 2 good young prospects to start and we have money to buy another max free agent along with bosh and Tmac said he'll play here for the low. Worst comes to worst we have a lineup that looks like this...
Sergio/Douglas
Tmac/House

People label him that because of what Wade and LeBron have accomplished.

It's harder for a PF to lead a team then it is for an elite wing man or Center.

He is worth a Max because he is consistent year in and year out and is one of the only few young PF's who will remain like that.

I like how posters on PSD annually flip flop their position on Bosh or Melo being the better player. When the Raptors had a 47 win season; Melo was thought to be way behind Bosh. Last year, Bosh was way behind Melo.. this year, it's about even depending on whether you ask a Raptor or Nuggets fan.

Of course he would be, he compliments many teams on the league. In the end, it comes down to contending, money and fame. Bosh is saying what I've thought for a long time now, the big 3 will stay where they are. I don't know if there is room in Utah for Boozer with the emergence of Milsap, Phoenix already tried to trade Amare so you'd have to think he's gone, I don't really know what's going on in Joe Johnson's head but if you ask me he has a pretty good situation in Atlanta.
