View Full Version : If Heat Miss Playoffs, Does Wade Bolt?

Unless some act-of-god occurs, one of the below teams will miss the playoffs. Hollinger's monkey math dictates the Heat have over a 95% chance of making the playoffs.

But let's suppose the Heat MISS THE PLAYOFFS. Does D. Wade decide he's had enough of Miami and leave for greener pastures?

I don't think so. I'd say he will stick it out with them because he is a god there and they've obviously convinced him that they will try and get players for him. If Heat miss playoffs I'd say 70% he stills stays.

I'd say there's a decent chance he might leave if they miss the playoffs...i'll say its 60-40 he stays if it happens

i'de think there's a very strong possibility, unless pat gets amare/'boozer/bosh before wade signs with whatever new team,or convinces wade that he's in negotiations to

Yeah unless the sign Amare or Boozer first D Wade is gone.

Probably, if the Heat doesn't get a big named FA.

i think wade isn't actually hurt right now and isn't playing because he doesn't want to be there after this year, so he's kind of keeping fresh for when he leaves to go to another team.

I think it depends on who's in the FA. If Amare's in there and the Heat sign him, yeah I think Wade stays.

If the Heat pass up on Bosh or Amare or they're not in the FA, then I think he leaves.

Players of his caliber don't fake injuries and try not to win because they are going to leave. Nobody likes losing.

The Heat are playing good right now. They have have won 5 of their last 6 and are 2-1 without Wade.

I think Wade bolts playoffs or not, he may be growing frustrated with the Heats lack of improving the Roster. Say the Heat do add Amare or another piece in the offseason to team up with Wade that alone still doesnt make the Heat championship contenders IMO that leaves still too many holes on there roster

Wade will go where the money is, and no team in the league can throw more money at him than the Heat

Check out the Heat's April schedule, and tell me if they are still going to miss the playoffs:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/mia/schedule?view=list&y=2010&m=04

Fri, Apr 2 Indiana Pacers (19-36) 7:00 pm EDT
Sat, Apr 3 Minnesota Timberwolves (13-44) 8:00 pm EDT
Wed, Apr 7 Philadelphia 76ers(21-34) 7:30 pm EDT
Fri, Apr 9 Detroit Pistons (20-35) 7:30 pm EDT
Sun, Apr 11 New York Knicks (19-35) 6:00 pm EDT
Mon, Apr 12 Philadelphia 76ers (21-34) 7:00 pm EDT
Wed, Apr 14 New Jersey Nets (5-51)

I wouldn't be surprised if the Heat end the season on a 7 game win streak. The NBA has really helped setup the Heat to make a playoff push if the standings are still close near the end.

Wade will probably stay. The only team that I think would interest him is the Bulls but I think he likes Riley's plan more. If the Heat miss the playoffs, I don't think Wade would take out his frustrations on the franchise. If they fall behind all those teams below them then it will be on him and he will want to make up for it.

Really? He's been openly frustrated with the lack of help on the Heat.

Wade will leave regardless if we make it to the playoffs or not if we dont get a big time FA. That is the deciding factor for Wade. Although making the playoffs can be somewhat important, he will still stay if we dont make it and get a big time player. Which we will so that sucks for Chi town, NY, and NJ.

He was also involved in all the decisions made at the trade deadline...

He won't leave Miami no matter what, he's built a legacy there and you should have heard the ovation Jay-Z got when he mentioned Wade the other night in Miami.

We've played some very close games with CLE this year. It would be interesting.

Really? He's been openly frustrated with the lack of help on the Heat.

I am sure he would have liked for them to trade for a guy and get the guy to sign to an extension but he knows that they would have been giving up too much. I think he has bought into Riley's plan. Now like others are saying, if Riley's plan doesn't work then I am unsure how happy Wade will be.

I don't believe he will bolt he will stick around and, see what moves they make in the off-season before he makes a hasty decision like that. I believe Miami will make some major moves this off-season they just didn't have alot of pieces to make a trade during the deadline. So he has to be patient and see what they do either way they will get Wade some help and he will give them the chance to do that before he just takes off.

I think he's the most likely to bolt between LeBron, Bosh and him.

Not making the playoffs (they definitely will) might just be the nail in the coffin.

i cant see wade leaving miami. its a great city. been his home for like 7 years and miami will improve no matter what they do in the offseason and therefore i think he will stay.

you can't write off any team in the NBA. So essentially you can say the schedule is easy but still lost enough games to knock yourself out of playoff seed contention. The Heat still have a long way to go. Milwaukee and Charlotte aren't exactly powerhouses but they are definitely going to push for a playoff seed.

And ontop of that, Miami's March schedule isn't easy to say the least.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/mia/schedule?view=list&y=2010&m=03

In conclusion i think Wade bolts unless they get a FA. Playoffs or not

Not right away. He will see what everyone can offer

What can other teams offer him through players around him, how much $ they are offering and his status as a player in those cities.

At the same time he will be seeing what Miami can do for him. I brought u a championship yet since then all uve given me was a washed up Oneal and a inexperienced youth in Beasley.

As a nets fan i hope to see him go there, the nets need a SG and a SF so filling him one of those holes with Wade will be great. In my eyes hes a top 5 player, game changer in many ways especially when he needs to be. If they can get Amare for him, they have a huge chance at keeping him but otherwise I dont see it happening

He will wait to see if they are able to sign another marquee free agent, but missing the playoffs won't help.

b) he is going to stay becase pat has convinced him he can get him enough help in 2010.

He is going to stay a Heat
Riley won't let him walk for nothing.
They have too much flexibility to walk up empty handed, like NY.

They should at the very least get a Boozer or even make a run for Rudy even if he is a RFA.

If they miss the playoffs it may give more incentive for Miami to go harder for Amar'e/Boozer other wise there is no longer a reason to stay there imo

no. as long as riley can get another big name in miami wade will stay, regardless of this season

I dont think it has anything to do with him deciding. Heat have a favorable schedule left after having one of if not the most difficult schedule yet. If they miss the playoffs, that only means a better draft pick for 2010 and beyond.
