I'm on the West coast so I dont get to see him much. But he's putting up 20/11 on great percentages this year. Is this a results of playing in the D'antoni's system or is he really that good?

Nothing to do with D'antoni's system because they have not run it this year. Lee is a very talented offensive player but is very weak on the defensive end.

Nothing to do with D'antoni's "system" but they still run an open court offense so that argument is still debatable. May no longer be RUN and GUN per se but they still focus heavily on scoring.

Whether or not Lee is legit. 100% yes. He possesses a very good skill set. He is deadly with both hands under the basket, very efficient and is a monster rebounder.

Legit on offense, no where close to legit on defense.

VERY talented offensive player, though.

I agree 100%

He shy's away from contact too much to be a legit defender

Rebounding-wise he is as good as it gets, great anticipation and position pretty much every time. Offensively everyone knows about his shooting and the fact that he can finish great with both hands around the rim.

Whether or not he is a product of D'Antoni we might never know unless he leaves New York and doesn't go to like GS or Phoenix. And his defense is not too hot either.

So far this year i have watched every game and Mike never ran an offense he basicly sits on his *** and does nothing i think he is a terrible coach.

Great on the o but if he played with a defensive stud next to him they will make 1 hell of a duo.

he's very talented but a bad defender. I really see him as a number 3 option on a winning team.

He's definitely a hard worker. He's 6'9 and he plays center. Most 6'9 players are playing on the wing, so those 11 RPG is definitely due to hustle.

I am a big fan...I really like his game. He is also deceptively athletic.

I think he can maybe be a top 5 Center in the NBA if he worked on his Defense.

If David played defense he would be one of the top 20 players in the NBA.

I like David's game. Eventually defense will be a part of his game.

Even if he improves on his defensive fundamentals, he will still get manhandled by bigger men. He lacks some of the quickness to keep up with athletic 4's and the 5 spot is his natural location, but paired with a defensive minded 4/5 - he could be even more effective.

His hussle and nose for offensive rebounds and putbacks make him one of the better players in the league. He is a little undersized and defense lacks against bigger stonger centers/fowards but does defend the drive well and boxes out good as well.

Great offensively as everyone's said, we just play small and Lee is somewhat out of position therefor his bad defense looks even worse.

Defense can always be taught if the player is willing to work, and Lee is the kind of guy that would be willing to work at it in the right system. If we could get him in OKC, you would see him become a much better defender. All these big market teams are panicking and scrambling around trying to figure our how they can lure those big name guys to come play there. But I'll tell you this right now. If we brought Lee in to play with Durant, Westbrook, Green, and the rest of the boys......we'd be able to hold our own any night of the week. If the Knicks really do end up letting him go, I think we'll have a good shot at getting him.

Lee needs a defensive center to play along side of him. Offensively he is very gifted he has excellent hands and has now added a 10-15 ft jump shot.

yup

but I want to see how he does when he plays on a GREAT team. right now, he's playing for a contract on a bad team. He's helping himself definitely.

he won't put up those numbers on a GREAT team

but he's a guy i would want. If his jumper isn't going down, he hustles for the ball like no tomorrow. great way to play the game

Lee is spectacular on offense and is very gifted in the paint. He worked on his midrange game and it is a huge reason that he is averaging 20 and 11 this year. However, he is just putrid on the defensive end and really needs to work on his defensive game. Also, you may not be able to see from his stats, but he also needs to box out. The main reason that he has 11.5 boards a game is because he is an unreal knack for where the ball will end up. He rarely boxes out and does allow quite a few offensive rebounds to the opposing team. He's still very young, and he can improve on all of those aspects of the game though

Above avg. on offense, terrible on D. He doesn't ever switch or rotate properly on D. His numbers are a little bit inflated, but a solid 2nd or 3rd guy [if he was] on a good team.
