D. Will number 10, I'd put him over Rose and Roy is debatable for sure, but I guess I can't complain too much.

Pretty good list.

Durant? lol, all he can do is score, his defense sucks. I don't think he will ever be as valuable as Wade

I'd trade Dwight Howard for Durant

Tyreke Evans should be ahead Brook Lopez.

I would also put Deron Williams over Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy.

Chris Paul should be ahead of Carmelo Anthony.

I'll take a 20/14/3 guy over a 30/8/4.

1. agreed but im bias.
2. I would Deron between Rose and Roy.
3. you could go either way.

Big men are more valuable than guards. So I'm okay with Brook being ahead of Reke.

Deron is 4 years older than Rose, I'm again okay with Rose, and his cheaper contract, being ahead of Deron. Roy and Deron are a complete toss up IMO.

I'll take a 20/14/3 guy over a 30/8/4.

I'll take a 33/9/4 guy who shoots 90% from the line and 45% from three over a 20/13/1 who gets 2.5 blocks a game and shoots in the 50's from the line. That said, can't go wrong either way.

I see these as much more feasible 5-8 year primes.

I love Simmons. Don't always agree with him, but he is always entertaining. Another fun read.

Simmons is the man and this is coming from a Cleveland sports fan.

#1 sports writer in the country and the best thing ever to come out of Boston.

You know, I respect that. Nobody should call anybody else crazy between those two both good players.

I went w/ Durant because he's a solid leader, teamguy, can score within an offense. Plus he's doing a lot more w/ less than Howard. Imagine if Durant was on the Magic...just sayin.

I can see the Howard argument, good true centers don't come around often adn he's obviously a beast.

Peyton Manning gets crushed by Tom Brady.

And Arod and the Yankees have been getting blasted by the Red Sox the past few years.

I see Dwight in his prime going 25/14/2 with 3-3.5 blocks a game shooting near 55% from the field. That said, 33/9/4 isn't too shabby either. :)

I agree big men are more valuable than guards, but I believe Evans will become a special player in this league. I just think Evans will be in that elite category of players where you can build a team around, and I just don't see that with Lopez. Just my opinion.

The only thing I don't like is how he talks about guys on a "much cheaper contract" but those are all rookie contracts. Sure, Derrick Rose is cheaper, but when his rookie contract is up, he's going to be higher paid than Williams and Roy.

bill simmons definitely keeps my interest in his columns. i agree with about 99% of the article, which is pretty darn good. i like how he doesnt even use stats our arguments for why lebron is #1...he's become bigger than the game.

Durant? lol, all he can do is score, his defense sucks. I don't think he will ever be as valuable as Wade

(A) You have to take contracts into consideration. Durant is in his rookie contract, Wade is about to get max.
(B) Age. Durant is only 21, Wade is 28.
(C) Injury history.

And let's not act like Durant won't continue to make improvements. Saying "all he can do is score" is pretty stupid, considering he's a top 3 scorer in this league. The point of the game is to freaking score and I have no doubt he will continue to make strides in other facets of his game like defense or playmaking.

Regardless, this is about VALUE, not who is better. Wade maybe better and hell, he may even have a better career when it is all said and done, but right now Wade is 28, Durant is 21 with still plenty of potential, with a great contract, lack of injuries. In terms of value, it's Durant and it's not even close. Hell, I'd probably take him over Howard in terms of value.
