The Spurs are reportedly now in the Tyrus Thomas sweepstakes, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

This one comes out of left field. According to Wojo, the Spurs are trying to unload Antonio McDyess' $7.5 million contract so they can clear the way to add Tyrus. The disgruntled Bull would be a nice fit next to Tim Duncan and would give the Spurs some much-needed athleticism. It's unclear if Thomas or DeJuan Blair would come off the bench, but there would be plenty of minutes to go around.

He's the anti-Pop player.

We all saw what happened when Drew Gooden joined the Spurs.

This would be the same thing. Tyrus = Disruptive Stromile Swift with a basketball IQ of 10.

Why would the Bulls want McDyess for two years after this season???????

I don't think they are talking about McDyess to the Bulls. I think Spurs are trying to find a trading partner for McDyess so they have the cap space to get Thomas, without dealing all of their expirings. :)

Good luck finding a taker on that terrible contract McDyess has. Maybe call the Clippers, who knows.

I wouldn't like this for San Antonio, although a change of scenery for Tyrus is definitely needed.

Roger Mason, Michael Finley, Matt Bonner for John Salmons and Tyrus Thomas, good in my book.

Chicago Trades: Brad Miller, John Salmons, Tyrus Thomas
Chicago Receives: Tracy McGrady, Brian Cook, Joey Dorsey

Houston Trades: Tracy McGrady, Brian Cook, Joey Dorsey, Jermaine Taylor
Houston Receives: Brad Miller, Kenny Thomas, Sergio Rodriguez, Roger Mason

Sacramento Trades: Kenny Thomas, Sergio Rodriguez
Sacramento Receives: Antonio McDyess, John Salmons

San Antonio Trades: Roger Mason, Antonio McDyess
San Antonio Receives: Tyrus Thomas, Jermaine Taylor

Chicago gets a lot of money for the off season and a ticket seller in T-Mac.
Houston gets a center and extra guards.
Sacramento gets a big man and a shooting guard in case Garcia and Martin aren't ready.
San Antonio gets Ty Thomas and finds Roger Mason home.
