Since the 2011 All-star location has already been chosen as Los Angeles, CA

why not Toronto for the 2012?

Thoughts? we never had one and it would be nice to have one outside the US for once?

A lot of teams haven't hosted it yet including toronto, memphis, portland, sacramento and OKC.

Considering Portland and Sacrmento have been in the nba for a pretty long time, they should deserve it but NBA seems to go to a location that will garner a lot of media attention.

I say New York, when's the last time there was an all-star game at MSG?

I don't see a problem with that, It's a big city.

New York has held it 6 times

I still belive toronto would be a good location ...since the other sports teams in Toronto aren't doing so well and plus it would help basketball soo much here:clap:

1998, the MJ vs Kobe Show.

I agree, I would like it back at MSG...

BUT

it has been after all 12 yrs, and there are also other deserving NBA cities who have never had it, like Toronto and such.

This is basically the breakdown of where the all-star game has been since 1998

1998-New York, NY (MVP: Michael Jordan)
1999-None (NBA LOCKOUT)
2000-Oakland, CA (MVPs: Shaquille O'Neal & Tim Duncan)
2001-Washington DC (MVP: Allen Iverson)
2002-Philadelphia, PA (MVP: Kobe Bryant)
2003-Atlanta, GA (MVP: Kevin Garnett)
2004-Los Angeles, CA (MVP: Shaquille O'Neal)
2005-Denver, CO (MVP: Allen Iverson)
2006-Houston, TX (MVP: LeBron James)
2007-Las Vegas, NV (MVP: Kobe Bryant)
2008-New Orleans, LA (MVP: LeBron James)
2009-Phoenix, AZ (MVPs: Kobe Bryant & Shaquille O'Neal)
2010-Dallas, TX (MVP: ?)
2011-Los Angeles, CA (MVP: ?)
2012-??? (MVP: ?)

If the Nets get a big free agent this summer and move to the Barclays Center, why not there?

depending on the success of these teams in the future i would see top canditates coming up for 2012 could be:

Chicago(beautiful city, great atmophere)
Toronto(another huge city, great arena would be good to get more fans from canada and the us to watch)
New York(MSG)
OKC(we had one in new orleans, why not okc)

We not going to BK till 2013. I would say Toronto in 2012 and BK in 2013.

Toronto would be good, it's a big city with a large fanbase. I'm suprised the NBA has never had one there before, especially when it was trying to establish it as an NBA fanbase.

If not Toronto, Jimbob is wise. Bring one to London!

I would like to see it in OKC.

They have such great fans there, would be good for them.

Wherever LeBron signs is sure to get an All-Star game in the next 3-4 years. Hopefully that place is Cleveland.

wasnt it suppose to be in Toronto when it was in New Orleans but they made it to New Orleans because of katrina and they were supposed to host it when it happened?

its going to be Orlando, David Stern already said if the new arena opens in 2010 it would be them most likely...and well it is set to open in October of this year

Eastern team for sure, even though I would love it in Utah.

Gotta say Toronto, and then Chicago. And of course the Madison Square Garden.

2012 All Star Game should be at Ford Field in Detroit or in Las Vegas

They should've done it in the new Magic arena. I thought they liked new arenas. Guess not.

I voted possibly but I think a city like Chicago should host it in 2012.

Kobe would have more all-star MVPs than Finals and Regular season MVPs combined.

I think cities like either Portland, Sacramento, and TOronto should get it, since they've never gotten it yet. But, i remember when Los Vegas got it randomly w/o a team, so i hope VANCOUVER can get it, after Winter Olympics, why not ALl-star weekend :)

Man would that be a dream for me, still yet to witness a NBA game.

The NBA wants to keep hosting the all star game further south. Supposively it's because they want it to be in a warmer city for the players.

I don't have a problem with Toronto hosting an all star game, but look at the previous cities that have hosted...

Phoenix
New Orleans
Las Vegas
Houston

Considering Canada just got the Olympics, it's a definite possibility. I would also like to see Port;and have it, but there aren't enough hotels surrounding the stadium.

My line-up for next year's all-star game (a line-up based on talent and not fan votes):

West -

PG: Chris Paul, Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant, Brandon Roy
SF: Kevin Durant, Carmello Anthony
PF: Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki
C: Al Jefferson, Chris Kaman

- Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Paul Milsap (if Boozer is traded)

East -

PG: Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo
SG: Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson
SF: LeBron James, Danny Granger
PF: Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire
C: Dwight Howard, Al Horford

- Josh Smith, Paul Pierce, Gerald Wallace, Andre Igoudala

If it was in TDot, I'd come out to watch for sure.

No I don't live here permanently, just studying here for the time being.
