Which player had more hype coming out of college? Both spent 1 year at their programs.

Melo. Even though he was behind LeBron and Darko. He won a national championship, and had a ton of buzz around him.

I'm shocked by the poll results. I thought it was Durant by a mile.

This is a very good question. Both of them were one and dones. Both of them had another player who was seen as the "game changer" (Lebron over Melo, Oden over Durant). Both of them did something profound for a freshman, Melo winning a national championship, Durant winning the Naismith and Wooden's. And both of them were in draft classes that were going to be viewed going in, as some of the best ever.

In the end though, I am going to have to go with Melo for only one reason, and that is because of the Florida championship teams during Durant's era. Allot of the hype going into the draft was also put on the Big Three from Florida; Noah, Brewer, and Horford. There was nobody to rival that in Melo's class at that time. Otherwise, I would have say they were about even.

I'll go with Carmelo Anthony...Kevin Durant coming into the NBA had a lot of "haters" thinking that he was too weak and too skinny
