Deserving but what a slap in the face for Kaman.

Only gets in the team after someone else cannot make it.

Chris Kaman has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured West All-Star guard Brandon Roy (right hamstring strain) in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game in Dallas.

Kaman will be making the first All-Star appearance of his career.

Kaman was selected sixth overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. He joins fellow 2003 class members LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in this year's game.

Kaman it is then.

he does NOT Deserve it.

1 he is doing numbers on a LOSING teams

2 there are at least THREE centers making better season since their teams are winning Bynum ,Nene and Gasol.

3 Roy is a wing he should be substituted with a wing ir guard , Gay, Ginobili, Artest, Ellis whatever but a wing or guard.

4 WHENEVER someone goes public dissing other players and questioning the system and cryng and moaning that he should be an alstar becaus he is better than another players he should be automatically be erased from any chance to make the game.

How could the best center playing in the west not deserve a spot? He's scoring the most point on the worst shittiest team. If anything, he most def. does deserves a spot on the All-Star roster.

Good job for Kamen!

Ball Hog? U Must be a clipper fan? The clippers can have a team of all #1 picks and still miss the playoffs.

I'll tell you why. cause u dont replace a gaurd in the allstar game with a center. Imagine if tom brady was replaced in the probowl with a WR or RB. doesnt make sense dude. its about the fans voting in the players and the players picking their peers as subs. this pick is coming from david stern.

I wish he were that smart

These are the following leaders in PER (30MPG limit), the ones in bold are All-Stars;

LeBron James-CLE 31.5
Dwyane Wade-MIA 27.2
Tim Duncan-SAS 27.2
Chris Bosh-TOR 26.4
Chris Paul-NOH 26.3
Kevin Durant-OKC 25.2
Carmelo Anthony-DEN 24.5
Steve Nash-PHO 23.5
Dwight Howard-ORL 23.1
Kobe Bryant-LAL 23.0
Dirk Nowitzki-DAL 22.9
Brandon Roy-POR 22.6
Pau Gasol-LAL 22.1
David Lee-NYK 22.1
Chauncey Billups-DEN 21.9
Corey Maggette-GSW 21.7
Zach Randolph-MEM 21.7

Yea what a bogus list

Because there are so many better centers. Of course hes scoring the most, he gets to chuck the most because there arent many good option on that team. Look at his efficiency with regards to his usage. Kaman has never been an efficient player, so why give him the benefit of the doubt now?

Dude, the Clippers are actually playing half decent (for them at least) in a stacked Western Conference, and the six games Kaman has missed they went 0-6. He is hugely important to their limited success. Calling him out and then saying that it should go to a wing player like ARTEST? REALLY? The guy has been mediocre at best. Slacking on D and doing next to nothing offensively. Different positions are awarded for replacements every year, they aren't trying to build a contender here, they're trying to get the best players in the game some due praise.

This pick is fine by Stern. As a Warrior fan I'd actually have been upset if Ellis made it (he needs to utilize his teammates better, tho' a huge issue with the way he plays is the way Nellie coaches... which is horribly to say the least).

Props to Kaman he is as deserving as anyone.

Monta is having a bigger year than Kaman!!! David Stern is a idiot!
Both the Warriors and Clippers are having losing seasons, but who would you rather put on the Allstar Team?
Ellis or Kaman? That is a no brainer! But what does Stern do, he choses Kaman!
But honestly Brooks or Gay deserved it more!

I bet David Stern pays no attention to Ellis!
He works his tail off night in and night out! I would blame the Dubs record on
1.Cohan
2.Nellie
3.Riley
Give the Dubs an allstar bigman, we will be in the playoffs! Not this year though, of course next year! lmao

Monta's playing the 2nd most minutes out of anyone in the league (not to mention taking the 2nd most shots), I'm glad he's getting the break. I know the Warriors have gone through more injuries than is fathomable this year, but even when we're 100% the kid is overplayed. He'll have a chance to be an all star next year, and if he can develop a better team game and the Dubs make some half decent off season acquisitions (i.e. get new ownership, fire Nelly and pick up a big!), then we'll be a +.500 team and you'll get your wish. Right now he doesn't deserve it, especially with him having a negative +- ratio, that's bad...

I'm assuming that's sarcasm. If it is, the Clippers' record is significantly better than Monta's Warriors record. Kaman deserves it over Monta for sure.

Bynum, Marc Gasol, Al Jeff, Okafor, Nene for example

Lol the only person you could make a case is for Marc Gasol. Bynum is certainly not an all-star, neither is okafor, neither is Nene. Not really sure how Jefferson is doing this season, but his team is an extreme cellar dwelller, much moreso than the Clips.

Chris Kaman has definitely played well, but I don't Monta Ellis should have made it by all means. He should have been in there in the first place. On top of that, Monta Ellis should be there because he plays the same position as Brandon Roy.

clipper fan? nah im universal nba fan..monta is shooting 30+ shoots in a game in one of the worst teams in nba. and clippers had only olowokandi and blake as 1st picks. And blake will be a superstar . wait and see
