I Am Awesome-O

NBA Hall of Famer and current menís basketball coach at Florida International University Isiah Thomas has emerged as one of the candidates to run the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to a source close to the situation, the Clippers have reached out to Thomas -- who coached the Indiana Pacers and also the New York Knicks -- to take over coaching, general manager and president duties.

I thought this was gonna be a joke thread. Apparently the joke is on the Clippers.

Would be great news for Jerome James though. His contract is expiring this season and he will be looking for a new team.

I heard DePaul was interested in Isiah Thomas as the HC (http://thehoopdoctors.com/online2/2010/02/isiah-thomas-or-rod-strickland-could-be-the-next-depaul-coach/)...but I'm sure he would take NBA over NCAA anyday

So the Clippers wanna suck for another 20 years???

rabueed
02-05-2010, 08:09 PM
Now i'm not a clippers fan or anything, but I really want them to succeed. I can't stand seeing a team suck so bad for so long with as much talent as they have on their team.

if they're considering Isaiah, then the Clips are screwed for at least the next 10 years. And that's a lot of Blake's career.

I'm not sure it is possible to put enough face palms for this. I didn't even think the Clippers wanted to be bad enough to bring Thomas in:confused:

As a fan of the game who wants to see every team put the best product possible on the court, this just makes me sad. What has Thomas ever done as a member of the front office of any organization that would make any team think he could possibly bring anything other than the complete distruction of a team.

Here's my prediction of what happens when Isiah takes over L.A.'s other team..

1. Trades Blake Griffin after 2 years for a 2nd Round pick and a Brian Cardinal...
2. Gropes Jerry Buss's daughter..
3. Gropes Jerry Buss
4. Gropes Donald Sterling
5. Signs Stephon Marbury
6. Gets banned from the Staples Center
7. Send Brian Cardinal out to do damage to Kobe during a Laker-Clipper game
8. OD's and tries to say it was Magic Johnson not he he who was overdosed, accuses the media of racial profiling

And i say this with the upmost respect.....are you ******* ********? Asking Isiah Thomas to be your coach is like asking Michael Jackson to be your babysitter.

Dunleavy has done a great job building talent but they just dont click together. Keep him as GM and just keep an interim head coach for the remainder of the season. John Wall coming to L.A.? haha

Wow. Losing must really be a tradition for that team. It just makes me mad to know that someone as bad as him gets to make millions of dollars to destruct a team.

You know if a factory worker continues to break equipment at his workplace, he loses his job. But in sports, you can be a complete failure, and still make millions. This isn't an "athletes make too much qualm," its just that he is so bad at running teams and he might get another chance. Something is seriously wrong with that.

There has to be so many people out there that can just do that job so much better than him.

GPriza
02-06-2010, 06:51 AM
The destroyer of franchises? This guy is gonna get another chance? My god, its not rocket science, there has to be more than 30 or so guys that can run a basketball team. Fro f*cks sake its basketball.

Maybe the Clippers are deliberately trying to remain, you know...The Clippers.

todu82
02-06-2010, 08:56 AM
If true then this is a horrible move for that team. They need a guy to come in that's going to bring respect to that team, not a guy like Thomas who will take respect away from the team.

HeirCanada
02-06-2010, 10:26 AM
Isiah is one of the best EVER at evaluating draft talent. Just look at his resume. The Clippers are notoriously the worst team EVER at drafting players. So it actually does make sense. I always thought Isiah deserved another chance, just don't let him sign FA's.

If Isiah was still GM in NY, their starting PG would be Brandon Jennings. Although, starting at SG might be Alan Houston - after he signed an 8 year 80 million deal.

That is incredible. How does this guy get anywhere near a basketball organization still????

Edit: How does this guy even get allowed into NBA arenas anymore? I wouldn't let him sit in my building if I was an owner.
