Essentially speaking. If your team had the choice of getting a top 3-5 player in the league that didn't fill the position that you needed most vs getting a top 10-15 player in the league that does fill the position you need most, which would you chose?

A) I'd take the Top 3-5 Player (Best Player Available) in the NBA no matter what
B) Give me the Top 10-15 Player in the NBA that fills our Biggest Need

Take the top 3-5 player. If you have the chance to get a LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Melo, Dwight etc...you take them. Period. I don't care if you already have a wing, and need a center...you take one of the first 4...and fill center with something else.

That's what trades are for. You take the best player.

Take the best player, fill the need later. No question about it.

Got to go with the best player and then work from there.

Give me the top 3 to 5 player because if I didn't take one of those guys, it's like saying I am going to pass on D. Wade, D. Howard and or Chris Paul. You always take the best player available and find a way to make it work. I would never pass on the opportunity to get one of the aformentioned players I listed.

A top 3-5 player fills whatever needs you have.

Except maybe free throw or outside shooting or even defense at times.

You take the best player available. You can use free agency to fill your biggest need.

Option of Kobe, Wade, Lebron, Durant, or Howard. I'd take the top 3-5 player everyday

The number one need of every team in the nba is a top 5 player. Almost nobody has won a championship without one.
