View Full Version : Build a contender from non-contenders

Could you build a title contender from players on non-competitive(sub .500) teams? To make things interesting you can only take one player from each team, and you have to pick starters, as well as one team's bench. Hell, you need to pick a coach too (From a separate unused team). So, for example, you can't have Flip Saunders and Caron Butler.

Here are the teams in play:
Bucks,Clippers,Knicks, Pacers, Pistons, Kings, Wizards, Sixers, Warriors, Wolves, Nets.

For example:

Devin Harris (Nets)
Eric Gordon (Clippers)
Danny Granger (Pacers)
Andrew Bogut (Bucks)
Al Jefferson (Wolves)

Sacramentos Bench

Flip Saunders Coach (Wizards)

Alright, I know you guys can build a better team than that.

psst... Brook Lopez plays for the Nets. Also, Jamison and Saunders are both Wizards. I guess I wasn't very specific, but your coach needs to come from an unused team.

Interesting, that team would certainly score a healthy amount of points and be a blast to watch.

I'm feeling this team too, although you don't have a coach or a bench.

this is probably the best DEFENSIVE combination. yu dont need a team full of 20 point scoreres to win. this team has enough scorers, play makers, REBOUNDERS, and DEFENDERS.

Bench:

Wizards?

this has enough offensive/ defense to win a championship =D

Break down: Coaching: I rather pick D'antoni due to having a veteran PG that isnt afraid to push the ball and having a hybrid guard in monta but ill explain later...

Guards: Baron's experienced and having a solid PG is always a plus on a team... Mostly for his assists but can be 3rd or 4th option in scoring... Monta can just straight up score points so he'll be my #1 option for points.
Forwards: I see Andre being more effective as a 2nd scorer and he's pretty good on defense... A team always need role players so I picked the hustling, rebounding player in David Lee... Downfall is I couldnt pick D'Antoni as the coach...
Center: To have a post option on offense makes a team be alot more effective on the offensive end. He also avg close to 10 RPG and with David Lee avg over 10, they should both clear the glass pretty well.
Bench: Picked the kings bench cuz they have decent shooters to come off the bench if they decide to go inside out on offense or to play small ball, move David Lee to C.

Some of the lineups people posted look great on paper, but there's only one ball in play and if you have too many shooters, the team might make the playoffs, but wont win anything... (Refer to the 2000-2003 Blazers roster)

yu guys keep including harris and granger, and granger is always banged up, how can yu expect to win a championship with people who get injured? take igoudala or baron davis, they are warriors.
