They wouldn't have won anyway but seriously what the hell crossed his mind to start Jameer Nelson? The guy hadn't played in months and the Alston/ Johnson combination was playing pretty damn good.

Im no Magic fan but I remember when they said he might start everyone was like WTF?

He was thinking he's going to put his best players on the floor to try to get the win. It's not like he played 45 minutes each game.

They've would have lost either way. The Lakers were the better team.

Exactly, he didn't even log that many minutes. He was their best option and got a solid amount of playing time but wasn't over-used.

We cant know for certain but Im guessing he was thinking something along the lines of "GOD Rafer sucks". Im sure he expected Jameer to struggle but he took the chance that he would find his rhythm over knowing that Rafer wouldnt.

I agree, they didnt need him for Boston nor Cleveland, so it made no sense for him to disrupt them in the finals.

Well, to be fair to SVG, Jameer did light us (Lakers) up both times we played during the regular season, so maybe SVG thought Jameer had the Lakers defense figured out
