People don't realize how quick Rose's first step is. When he came in and people knew he didn't have a jump shot so they gave him like 5ft of space and dared him to shoot but he still beat people with his quick 1st step and beat them to the rim like "now you see me, now you don't".

I have never seen anybody that quick with the ball. That's amazing.

TheHoopsProphet

Rose is the obvious pick here, I'm just a little shocked no one mentioned Chris Paul. Probably because he plays in a half court system, but that nincompoop is quick.

I'd actually say Lebron, as much as it pains me.

If he's given any space, and has the dribble, he can get to the rim and leave his defender behind him no questions asked. It's really quite impressive for someone of his size.

Gotta give some love to Jerry Stackhouse - at one time had one of the quickest first steps in all of history I'd say. Watch some old clips of him fellas - was deadly with that first move. DEADLY. Not my favorite player by any means - I was glad when he left Detroit but when I think of first steps I always think of Jerry Brickhouse. Was quicker then than Rose or Ellis is now.

Sure thing, and he's taking more FG's per game then Bird did in any season of his career. He's #2 in shots taken this year. #2 in turnovers. Halfway through the season he has 1.5 win shares. MVP? That's why GS is trying to dump him to make room for Curry, who is 2.5 years younger, a better 3 pt shooter, and better defender, with a better APG rate then Ellis considering how much less he has the ball then Ellis. Ellis is trash - and no he doesn't have the quickest first step.

nonsense is spewing at of your mouth at an alarming rate right now...

the warriors are doing nothing of the sort...there have repeatedly been rumors of monta going elsewhere and the warriors FO have repeatedly said that the warriors are not even considering trading him atm..

nobody is saying ellis is the mvp dumbshit...dude was saying that how everytime rose has a good game, there are people on these forums who claim he is the next coming of jc...

monta has an amazing game tonight...and it goes unheard..he shot something like 17-23 for 46 points...thats amazing, i don't care what your name is...

monta is way the hell better than curry, its not even close...put curry in monta's role right now (carrying the entire team) and he wouldn't even come close to putting up the same efficiency numbers...

the warriors offense right now, you can thank nelson for this, is iso maggette or curry, and when they can't find a shot, dump it to monta with 8 left on the shotclock and expect him to do something miraculous..the rest of the game its monta iso's and fastbreaks..a poorly run team...not monta's fault..

its very clear that you are not in the slightest bit familiar with the warriors...maybe you've caught a couple of games in the last year, and you think your word is reliable...? you're a moron...

curry a better defender than monta? thats asinine..curry has one of the highes foul rates for a pg EVER....he' can't stay with nba pg's right now. he tries very hard, but its resulted in little success.

lets compare monta and curry's numbers from the same age..playing similar roles.

monta: 37mpg 20.2ppg 5rpg 4apg 1.5spg .580ts% 2.1to pg
curry: 34mpg 14ppg 3.8 4.7a 1.8spg .553ts% 2.6to pg

oh and btw monta has a higher ast% than curry...this year.

i'll give you a hint for the future...don't speak when you don't know what you're talking about...

How is Brooks continuously left out? oh yah I forgot he doesn't play for Bulls, Lakers, or Celtics, and he isn't a "superstar" ala Melo, Wade... You people are FOOLS if you think D.Rose, Wade, Melo, or anyone else for that matter has a quicker first step than Brooks. This shouldn't even be a question...Rajon Rondo...

Dude can't shoot any farther than 15 feet, yet still puts up 15-20 every night. He's 6ft tall and drives past everyone for easy layups. He does not get easy free throw points or make 3's. Meaning he's scoring 8-10 layups...in traffic per night.

Have not seen a PG shut him down this year
