If that was an imitation of Jordan's move: Fail.
If the media tried to portray Lebron imitating Jordan's move: Fail.

Nobody, I mean, nobody can ever top that move Jordan made. Did you see Michael's extension and smoothness, that one that Lebron did was not even 1% of the calibre of that move.

Clearly Jordan's was better. This is just a video of a nice play with a tagline meant to draw viewers. Let's not all start freaking out.

So anytime a player switches from their right hand to their left hand it's a Jordan imitation? Or just when LeBron does it?

And yea, that broad's pretty sexy

bad comparison.. i bet this move gets pulled off all the time in pick-up games.
either way, mj's shot wasn't contested.. lebron's was so he had to switch hands.
i really dont find either shot that impressive

Of course Jordan's was better, that, next to maybe Dr. J's over-the-basket reverse layup were one of the greatest and most iconic moves in sports history. Lebron's shot was still a pretty good one though, it just looks tame because of his size.

This is just a slap in the face to Jordan's move. The two plays are not even a bit close. Did you see the hangtime Jordan pulled off, and the grace he finished it off with? He made it look so easy, I think he would have a harder time tying his shoes then doing that amazing play. Jordan by a mile on that one.......

Jordan's move is totally un-needed in his situation he didnt need to swith hands at all nobody was close to the ball when it was in his right hand....i like lebrons move better cause he actually put it to use and someone actually contested his shot!

Pfft. LBJ was in the air half the time that MJ was, and his body was almost behind the backboard when he changed hands.

Also, the best part about MJ's shot is that he cut through 2 defenders with the change of hand and was falling over in mid air, making the final shot more difficult.

Nice play by LBJ. Definitely a highlight reel play. But Jordan's move is top 10 all time. LBJ's might not be top 10 this week.

Are you kidding me? When interviewed after the game, Jordan said that he switched hands because he thought Sam Perkins was going to block him.

It looked like no one could get to him in time. IMO, what makes the play so great, was that Jordan made it tough. How many people can decide what to do with the ball while in the air? Thats what makes it great.

It was a nice play by LeBron. Don't get why Yahoo had to compare it to Jordan's though...obviously it was nearly as amazing.

There is no mention in either the thread title or the video title that LeBron's move was better than Jordan's. It just says "imitates", which put simply means "copy", which put even more simply means "looks like".

Some of you guys need to give it the LeBron hate a rest... Appreciate it for what it's worth, a great move that looked similar to one of the greatest moves of all time, not better.

jetsfan28

Jordan's was nicer, LeBron's was more necessary, and they aren't even similar

Number 14 Sam Perkins was right under the basket when Jordan went up for the lay-up. If you watch the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT1yNyRwd7w), it looks like Perkins is about to go up for the block just as Jordan is switching hands. I think Michael's switch was definitely for a reason, he had no way of knowing that Perkins wouldn't attempt a block.

Regardless, it was still insane :speechless: Why'd it have to be against the Lakers? :pity: :p

Isn't it AWESOME how the media tries to compare every super star than Jordan? Its great, I NEVER get tired of that. I saw Kobe get the ball stolen the other day, and it was like EXACTLY like when Jordan got the ball stolen by Nick Anderson. And once Yao Ming was resting and pulled down on the bottom of his shorts EXACTLY like Jordan used to. And one time, I saw Ben Wallace hit a free throw, and it was like EXACTLY like Jordan. Like he dribbled the ball first and then he stood at the EXACT same line. And yes, I actually HAVE seen Ben Wallace hit a free throw ;) Clearly the league today is defined by what Jordan did.

Jordan's was epic. LeBrons was like an everyday thing. I did that same move last week. I'm still waiting on an ESPN doucmentary on my move.

Personally, I think they are both nice finishes.. Neither one of them that great though. If someone random pulled off the Jordan move other than MJ, it probably would have made the top 10 that night and never been heard of again.

The media just loves trying to compare people like Kobe and Lebron to Jordan.
In most cases they fail, in this case.. Who cares.

It was a move within the flow of the play. He had to switch hand to avoid the block. Its a natural instinct move. No way was he trying to imitate Jordan. He said it himself that it wasn't nice. Just a layup that he needed to make. Only the media was trying to compare it with Jordan's move.
