which point guard do you think would be most effective and the perfect backcourt partner to stud shooting guards like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Brandon Roy (or Lebron/Durant) that need to have the ball in their hands to be effective and would flourish themselves in doing so?

Jason Kidd

Andre Miller

Steve Nash

D Will. He can shoot the 3 ball, take pressure off the Sg by getting double teams, Drive and dish, and he is big enough to post up most PG's. Billips is also another good option.

Chauncy

Deron

Rondo

With a sg/sf like those guys, i'd want a guy who can handle it well and shoot the three ball.

I know what you are doing Jimbob, and it's brilliant.

Steve nash would not only make the superstar sg better but the entire team, he is also one of the better 3pt shooters in the game, can slash into the paint and get otehr teams in foul trouble and can get his ft in.

Rando can break down the other teamand drive to net,but the games ive seen him play he isnt very effective perimeter shooters.

D-William would be my second option

the thing is though Steve Nash needs the ball in his hands to be effective IMO, though he fits the criteria of being a good shooter and great ball handler...except the defense. He's a 2 time MVP himself, I dont know wether he could run up the court without the ball for half the game.

Jason Kidd also looks like he'd accept that secondary role, but if his jumper reliable enough?

Deron would accept the role and give you everything, we already run plays where Brewer brings the ball up the floor, or AK or CJ and go to Deron in the post. I think Rondo would work too in my opinion, and Chauncey already doing it with Denver.

what about Derek Fisher?

A pg who could play off the ball... each and every SG/SF you listed are ball-dominant players, so you need a guy like Kidd or Chauncey who could play off-ball and still handle and dish out with the best of them.

Not now. He is not that good now, and needs too much help on D.

1. Chauncey Billups (the best for this kind of role)

2. Kirk Hinrich
3. Deron Williams
4. Mo Williams
5. Steve Nash

Nash
Williams
CP3

Any one of these three would be unselfish enough while still having the abililty to create. Nash and Williams get an extra nod for their ability to shoot the 3. I mean honestly, who would you rather have than those three?

Chauncy

Deron

Rondo

100% spot on include Kidd 2 imo

All the stars are listed, but more of a "bargain pick" is Kirk Hinrich.

He is a great defender of 1s, 2s, and even some 3s. He can hit the open J, so he would play well off of a guy like Kobe/Wade etc. He can bring the ball up and initiate the offense when these stars need to play off the ball for a bit, as well as thrive without being the primary ball handler.

Basically you would need a person who could play like a combo-guard. A Mo Williams type. He can make plays, but plays that SG type role taking the open shots and driving to the basket. This being said, all the players mentioned are great but i think even a player like the Gordons (Eric/Ben) could work next to a ball-handling SG type.

A point guard who can constantly hit that open jumper, whether it be a 3 ball or a mid-range. Superstars attract so much attention when driving to the net, so your bound to find someone open.

Kirk Hinrich, MIke bibby in prime, depends on the situation, but you dont IMO want a ball dominant PG with a ball dominant sG, this just cant IMO work

A player like Kirk, gives you leadership, 3pt shooting, and defense, while bibby, gives you less D, but more off ball shooting.

a few others would be MO Williams ( I consider him more of a SG than PG Personly )
Billups was a good player, but more ball dominant
Fisher, again is a 3pt shooter,

but in the league right now, I would say Kirk HInrich, he just brings you everything you want in an off the ball player IMO. but he is a bit overpaid for his service though.

Billups obviously. Unselfish, yet all-star caliber...willing to pass or score depending on the situation...and able to defend both back court position.

so your saying if Chicago miraculously signed Wade this offseason, a backcourt of Rose and Wade will not work?
