His stats are even worse in the Magic's last 7 games, but they still won 6 of them. If he can produce even 10-15 ppg at 45% shooting, the Magic will be elite.

Dwight has been beasting on both ends and Redick has picked up some of the slack at the 2, to keep the Magic afloat.

Yeah he has been playing bad. One thing is for sure if he can pick it up come postseason then that would mean the world to Orlando.

What are you implying? 3 or 4 of the players on the 4 and 40-something Nets are potential hall of famers...

The days of me thinking players can turn it on for the postseason are over, I used to say that bout Shaq. And typically if a player has never really displayed the ability to exceed his limits from reg vs post season play then why expect it now. The only way Vince is ready for the playoffs is if he starts gearing up now.

No hes making a joke that Vince stats are only down because he has help, clearly mocking the absurd notion that players shouldnt be held accountable for their rate of production when winning.

Hedo's still helping by contributing, and is still making plays.

He's just struggling offensively

So you don't think Vince can flip the switch come playoff time? Thats a tough one because even though his numbers are horrible he's still fairly reliable for a big play in crunch time.

My biggest disappointment with him is that he seems completely satisfied to stay on the perimeter and jack up long balls. Not even wide open looks either! If he were missing good shots then hey thats a different story. Then again I don't know why Im surprised as thats been the knock on him more and more the past few years....

Honestly, I don't see him picking it up in the playoffs to be honest. There's no good reason as to why he's not playing well, and it's only the first half of the season. If anything, I could see him going through maybe a 1-week bad stretch near the end of the season, but not a 2-month bad stretch in the beginning of the season.

I dont understand how Vince could say hes staying aggressive yet not "trying" to score 30 (Meanwhile hes sporting the highest usage% of his recent career marks) and finding his teammates (yet posting considerably lower assist marks.

The stats just dont support his theories

Magic Mod on another board summed it up nicely

I take offense to that(VC bashing/Hedo praising) as well, like some people all of a sudden calling us fans dumb for not expecting Carter to be putting up NBDL player numbers. No one saw this coming.

I can totally understand believing Vince would show some form of decline. The majority of Magic fans expected it as well. But not from border-line All-Star to a few points a game in the span of months, so some of you need to quit acting like you did.

Same post for a different thread:

"Whether we're playing well, we're not playing well, I am not playing well, whoever is not playing well. I am going to encourage, motivate, cheer, whatever the hell I got to do to win," said Carter. "I am here for winning. All that other stuff, I have been around too long, that's where the frustration comes from. I don't have any hidden agendas. I am here to do one thing and one thing only - find a way to win. "

Carter's stat line for tonight's game against the Bucks:
7-15FG 2-3THR 1-3FT 10RBs 7ASTs 1STL 1BLK 17PTs

If he can consistently produce like this or even close to this 15-4-4 on 45+% shooting, the Magic will be able to defend their EC title respectfully.

Ouch. Not exactly good to start off the new year. I think he can pick it up though, at least he better for the Magic's sake.

Vince is a terrible team player, he has no team flow, and plays only when he wants.

Even when he played with Kidd he wasnt impressive and with his talent he should of been killing it on a nightly basis, putting up highlights and states galore.

That's when I realized he was a career loser.

Carter is no longer an all star caliber player and that's just being kind. The Magic should have kept Hedo as he fit their system much better and they also missing his playmaking ability.

Are you crazy? With Dwight dropping 22ppg in his last 10, getting 20ppg will be quite difficult for VC.

15-5-5 is a more reasonable expectation, keep in mind that the offense is anchored by Howard now, they're pounding the ball inside more and it's paid off.

yeah but he's finally surrounded by good players now! ;)

I think they could be even better. The problem with the Magic is the ball is not being distributed until J Williams is playing and they need better perimeter defense. Honestly they dont need VC's offense, they need his presence and leadership in clutch moments of the game. But I say that the Magic needs to go aggressively after Andre Iguodala. He is the missing piece of the puzzle. He's unselfish, plays good defense, and dominate games without scoring. I would trade anyone other than Howard, Lewis, Carter, and Gortat. Anyboby else can go. Just imagine J Williams, VC, AI, Lewis, & Howard. Dynasty!!!!!
