Phoenix Suns center Channing Frye has been selected for the All-Star Weekend's 3-point Shootout in Arlington, Texas, according to a report in The Arizona Republic.

Frye would become the first center to compete in the 3-point contest since Seattle's Sam Perkins, a forward-center, in 1997.

Frye, who ranks second in the NBA with 114 3-pointers made (behind Danilo Gallinari), is shooting 44 percent from beyond the arc, which is seventh-best in the league.

Gallo better get in this.

Jared Dudley tweeted about it a few times, him wanting to be in it. But congrats to Channing, lets hope he delivers.

Boobie Gibson has got to be in it.

He's currently leading the league in three point percentage at 48%. There isn't anyone in the league shooting it better from deep than him.

I'm not saying Pierce doesn't deserve it but Boobie deserves it just as much if not more. It doesn't matter if a player is wide open or not, he's still gotta hit the shot.

The six competitors should be:

1. Boobie Gibson
2. Paul Pierce
3. Danilo Gallinari
4. Channing Frye
5. Steve Nash
6. Rashard Lewis

No love for Korver or Kapano. Kapano who wins it every year and Korver who is a true three point threat.
