He hardly did play in Dallas, but that had more to do with Carlisle's foolish set 8 man rotation and desire to run the starters into the ground.

He played about 13 mintues a game for Dallas, nothing huge, but he still saw a decent amount of PT.

How do Dallas fans feel about him? I became a fan of Humphries after the first Dallas/Lakers game this season (Im a Lakers fan too). The guy plays the game the right way, and from what Ive seen it seems hes always busting his @$$.

The Nets absolutely got a good deal out of this. Ive watched Najera play a lot over the past few years, ive never seen him dunk on someone as hard as Humphries was dunking on the Clippers the other day.

What was your impression from what you saw from him in Dallas?

I know from his days in Toronto he was a bit inconsistent. He showed the energy when he was on the court, but at times he tried forcing way too much.

You guys are sad, just because someone has one or two good games, it doesn't mean they are a "gift" or a "package sent from heaven". Seriously, PSDers overrate people way too much. I know Hump from the Toronto days, and he is a good play, but I wouldn't say he is a "gift" just yet.

First Sundiata, then Hump, who's next?

i remember when he was in toronto, at first he was great off the bench, dunking and hustling, but then he fell in love with the jumpshot and tried to do force up shots because of the little success he had. He was like our amir johnson now, except amir knows his limits

Araujo is currently playing with Paulistano of NBB... otherwise he'd be in NJ rocking their world lol.

He's not just scoring, he's scoring efficiently...something Kwame and Araujo couldn't do on any team. give him a break. he's playing very well for the nets and was the best player in their most recent victory.
It's not as easy as "putting up stats on a bad team," because that usually involves chucking, which he's not really doing.

it was a gift. do you not realize we moved Najera for him? Najera hasn't produced at all since coming to the Nets (at least not on the court). najera played 40 games in two years (and is owed 3+ mil over the next two years) and had 128 pts and 105 rebs. Hump has played 7 games for us and already has 98 pts and 48rebs. it's not just numbers either. his energy off the bench has been far better than anything Najera showed over the two years. We traded a guy who wasn't going to be in our plans for a guy we're going to use as a role player over the next two years. I consider that a gift.

on top of that najera shot .410 while hump has been shooting .515 (yeah more numbers). it's not just chucking up shots.

yeah i've heard about that. i hope he doesn't do that too often. 4 of his makes were dunks the last game so that was pretty good (had a fifth blocked by kaman, nice D by kaman there).

Kris Humphries current level of production is the result of teams not being ready for him...

You think teams prepared for a guy who wasn't getting any minutes?

Once opposing teams factor in The Hump he will be a non-factor in most games

dtmagnet
01-29-2010, 11:33 PM
Hump was decent in Toronto when he played his role, but he has a hard time understanding what his role is and playing within the limits of his abilities. Not an overly talented player, but if he just goes out and crashes the boards and gets the dirty points he can be a solid bench player.

01-29-2010, 11:33 PM
Well I don't really like Najera but I wouldn't say that Hump was a gift. The front office couldn't have anticipated he would be playing this well for the Nets. So really they got lucky in the deal. Najera started off with Dallas so I assume that lure of being familiar with his playing style/skills is what made the deal happen anyway. Heck Hump was averaging like 6 points and 4 boards when they traded him, while Najera had 4 points and 3 boards. WHOA THEY REALLY TRADED SOME BAD DUDES!

i hope not. this game he was ineffective because what other guys pointed out before, big ego, lots of ridiculously contested shots. in past games he passed off and let someone create for him. he still hustled and played D but that wasn't enough.

I'm pretty sure Kris wants the Mavs to take this "gift" back. He doesn't wanna be remembered for being on the worst team in NBA history (if that does happen, but I don't think it will).

IMO, Humphries is a solid player, as long as he stays in his role. It was just too bad that he couldn't play much in Dallas, with all the bigs there (Damp, Dirk, Gooden, Tim Thomas). I'd say this Nets team is a good opportunity for him to show what he's got.

Nobody else wanted him but the NETS.....the Mavs where trying to trade him since he came to Dallas in the Marion deal, pluse I heard Hump and Rick got into over playing time and Hump got traded so he could play more.
