Zach Randolph will be named an All-Star reserve for the Western Conference, according to sources with knowledge of the voting.

Congratulations to Z-Bo. He completely earned this.

As a Grizz fan, I was utterly against the Randolph trade when we made it this summer. All I had ever heard about Zach was that he was a cancer, a black hole, that he put up good numbers on bad teams, etc. And to an extent, these labels were warranted.

But Z-Bo has made a complete 180 turnaround this year. He has really matured as a player and a person, became totally unselfish on the court, became Memphis's leader, and turned this franchise around with him. He's putting up 20/10 on a WINNING team now.

Again, congrats to Zach Randolph. I'll get back to eating crow now.

Yeah he's been exceptionally and amazingly consistent all year. Big part of why Memphis is in the playoffs right now.

It's 180, a 360 would mean he would end up in the same direction(sorry just a pet peeve of mine). Yeah hes matured tremendously as a player and has become way more team oriented. Good for him.

There is nobody who believed Z-Bo would be the missing piece that would make all of the struggling talent on Grizzlies click. Congrats to him.

Also, just curious, what's attendence like at Memphis games now that they are having some success?

good for him. he finally gets it. lol, on a sidenote, doing a 360 means you're still going in the same direction. i think you mean hes made a 180 and is now going in another direction lol

:laugh2: Yeah, in high school I was an egregious Geometry student, and I had an even more incompetent Geometry teacher. These are the results. Thanks though, I edited it.

Increasing, but not where it needs to be. I think that if Memphis makes the playoffs and wins a couple of games in the first round or even advances into further rounds, attendance will be way up next year.

If this news and website is legit...Great for him. Some take for ever to "get it" with his talent.

Means nothing for Gasol-he was unlikely to be selected because he's missed quite a few games this season.

Kaman-I have no idea.

Dirk-He's probably a reserve.

My guess is that the reserves will be Randolph, Dirk, and Durant.

is Randolph gonna be considered a Forward or a Center?

I don't know. I say stick him at center; if Amare is considered a center for this game, then Randolph can be one also. But Durant and Dirk both deserve to be there as well.

Very deserving, unless of course Dirk or Durant don't make it. But I don't see any other forward/center else getting in over those two.

I think those should be the only forwards/centers in. I think 4 guards should make it. Paul, Roy, Williams, Ellis, Billups and Brooks all could easily be all stars.

Im really glad Zach Randolph got his attitude in the right direction and is playing great for the memphis grizzlies. Many people trashed this signing, but as of right now he is doing great things for this team

Good for him and the grizzlies. I happy for him.
People were calling me dumb for drafting him in the fourth round in my fantasy league. Keep on putting up those number Zackie!

No doubt he deserves this, and I'm sure they will announce it later - but its anything but official as of now. Interesting title.

If you think Z-Bo's changed NOW, then you're wrong.

Back when he was with New York, he absolutely amazed me with how he changed over the summer before we traded him.

He passed the ball, he played defense, all while being the beast scorer and rebounder that he is.

I'm sad we had to let go of Zach. If it wasn't for his humongous salary, I wouldn't have minded him here in New York :(

But congrats Zach ! You earned it :)

Zach Randolph and All-Star just seems weird to me.

After years of literally everyone hating on him.

It may be unfair to say but if you're the Clippers do you still take Blake Griffith number 1 knowing you had an allstar powerforward on you're roster already? Randolph is putting up numbers right now that you hope you're number one pick will someday achieve. Injuries aside Z-Bo>>>>>>>>>>>>>Griffith

I'm happy for the guy. He deserves it. He's been a consistent 20/10 player for the better part of his career, and eve though he doesn't have a strogn passing game, he has never demanded to be the first option, and deliveres when he gets the ball (other greats, like Moses Malone have been limited front court play makers withouth getting the hate the Zach-attack has). And the talk about not being a team player has always seemed un justified to me. He's been on bad team, but they were teams that were bad before he got there.

Cheers to the Zach-attack! I wish the Pistons had picked him up in the offseason instead of Charlie V :( sorry Charlie, no offence intended.

Well said JJH, too much crap for too long. Clipper fans actually think Kaman is better than him, its sad really, how in denial we are.

I actually think it's a lot closer than people think. Seeing Bosh play for his entire career, he is vastly overrated. He isn't great on the def. side of the ball, he's a chucker, and he hasn't lived up to his hype of being the main guy. He's a second option. He's not worth a max contract.

Props to Z-Bo! I've never really understood the knock on dude, I think alot of people are still holding a grudge from the old Portland "jailblazer" days. In NY and LA he was never a distraction and the guy can put up 20-10 in his sleep. Sometimes 25-18!

One thing I did notice is that he stepped his passing game up this year though, which has always been his knock on the court.

well well deserved. Still cant believe Horford made the all-star team though, Lee got snubbed, but still well deserved for Z-bo.
