Who do you guys think should be the Rookie of the year midway through the season?

I pick Tyreke Evans. He is averaging 20.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG and 5.0 APG. His Kings are loosing a lot of ball games lately but he has continued to play well although he seems less effective playing along side Martin.

Jennings comes in 2nd. Although he is not playing quite as great as he did in the beginning of the season, this kid is a monster and will be a force to reckon with in the league for a long time. He has hit his rookie wall but he will be fine. His numbers are 18.0 PPG, 3.6 RPG and leads the rookies with 6.2 APG

Stephen Curry is my 3rd pick. He leads the rookies in 3 pt% at 0.436%. He is also playing great defense and his recent double- double (26 pts and 10 boards) against the bulls was remarkable. He made Derrick Rose look like the rookie in that game, completely outplaying him. His averages are 12.9 PPG, 3.9 RPG and 4.5 APG.

Honarable mention: Jonny Flynn and Omri casspi
Who are your top 3 picks?

It's obviously Tyreke. Tyreke's playing with outstanding stats, and doing everything for the Sacramento Kings.

Close follow-ups are Brandon Jennings, and Stephen Curry.

Tyreke pretty much has it locked, the only thing that will put him down a little is the teams success, but I still think he has it.

Its somewhat close, Evans can hit that rookie wall, but I still think he'll win it. Jennings can be surprising but he shoots at a poor percentage unlike Tyreke.

Tyreke da Freak easily number 1, then Steph Curry. It won't even matter though, it's Tyreke Evans unless he get's hurt.

I totally agree It's definitely Tyreke at this point. I wonder if he would have beaten Blake had Blake stayed healthy? I guess we will never know that.

It comes down to Griffin or Rubio, I can't really decide.

Evans is putting up the best numbers, so its hard not to pick Evans. That said I think DuJuan Blair is also having a great year. His numbers are inconsistent largely because his minutes are inconsistent as Pop is finding a way to spread the minutes around. But he is putting up the best rebounding numbers, and unlike any of the other top rookies, Blair is making a solid contribution on a contending team, and all this while giving up 5 inches on some of the guys he is defending (he's only 6'7). It could be argued that Evans and Jennings are big fish in a little pond while Blair in playing on a playoff team and legit contender.

Evans would still be my pick, I think he really deserves it considering the numbers he's posting and what he means to his team, and Jennings would likely be my number two (though his FG% makes me cringe), but when I click on nba.com and I see the Spurs, Bucks and Kings have all player, I always go to look at the Spurs box-scores first because I want to see what kind of number Blair posted. His per-48 minute stats are jaw-dropping some nights and if he was on a team that had minutes at power forward and Blair wasn't playing out of position (the Spurs have him playing center when he should really be at power forward), he might be the clear cut ROY.

Its a shame Griffen is out for the year though.

Definitely not as clearcut as people here are making it out to be.

It's probably Evans right now, but don't look past Steph Curry to pull an upset. If the Warriors get healthy and end up around .500, I think he has a great chance to be the best rookie. He's up to 14/4/4.5 on the year with more steals and a lower turnover rate than Reke. He's been getting consistently better as the season progresses, and dude's just red-hot lately. Averaging 24/6/5 with 2.5 steals over the past 2 weeks. It's really fun to see what this kid can do without Monta hogging the ball all game. I think he's both a slightly better shooter and passer than Tyreke, and he's got the potential to be a player you can build a team around.
For what it's worth, the two played last night and both played great, but Stephen Curry played better. Had 27/9/6 with three trey's and three steals. Kid's a boss.

Still curry has his moments of inconsistancy so does jennings .. one night he will score 25 another night he will score 11.. and when he does score high its against bad teams like his 55 point game against curry's warriors .. at this point someone that does it nightly basis and always takes it up a notch against playoff teams is Tyreke Evans ... he is #1 Rookie and will be ROY when this season is said and done.

What do you think? i think he has a good chance at getting it, despite the warriors horrible record. He has been outplaying evans as of late, jennings has slowed down, blake griffin is injured(but will be great) & collison is comin up as a starter. Evans will probably get it, but curry will make it interesting. I see him being better than steve nash.!!!!

Tyreke has been consistent all year.
He's still my ROY.

Curry is easily 2nd though. easily. he does have a good shot at it, but again, Reke has been consistent all year long. Curry has come strong late

This isn't a rookie 'as of late' award. It's rookie of the year. Evans jumped of to a quick start and he's not looking back. It's still his to lose imo

Agree.

..

I still choose Curry because he's fun to watch (not like Evans isn't).

Stephen Curry hands down.

If Monta Ellis wasn't on the Roster, Steph would EASILY average more than what Tyreke is averaging now.

Not hating on Tyreke, but Stephen Curry is the better player in MY EYES. Yes, in my eyes only, so if you're a Tyreke fan, you don't need to burn me at the stake, because obviously we are entitled to our own opinion. ^_^
