Well both announcers made a big deal about it. It looked clean, I think the clock started late though. Can you actually make it with .3 seconds?

Lol. I think if it was above your head, it's definately possible. They *****ed a lot about it though. Like 2 points was going to make a difference in a 21 point win.

Can't tell that until the game is over. And they way we have played against below .500 team, it was a big deal.

If this shot's good, Brad Miller's shot is good earlier on in the season

Science has proven that only JJ Reddick has the capability to shoot a jumper with .3 sec on the clock. You're not gonna argue science are you?

EVERYBODY thought the NBA rule was you could not catch and shoot at 0.3...by definition. EVERYBODY had it wrong. And I bet you will hear announcers repeating the "By NBA rules you can only tip it in because there is 0.3 or less on the clock" again.

Watch this video. http://ballhype.com/video/fsn_sport_science_ep9_tricks_of_the_trade_jason_ka pono/

Jason Kapono got the shot off in .22 second, but he caught it in shooting motion. There is no way JJ Redick can catch the ball below his knees and still get the ball off with .3 second. The shot clock started late. A vet ref like Crawford should know there is no way you can CATCH and SHOOT with only .3 second left.

.4 and above should be the required time to throw up a shot

VC did something similar last season with .3 sec left and the wavied it off. That situation baffled me. They should reconsider waving off these baskets

Super.

Didnt Sports Science go over this? They had like some of the faster shooters come and test, and it was like .7 or .5s is the min?

.22 seconds is what Kapono shot it in.

0.22 when the ball is caught in shooting motion, not catch-setup-shoot... Redick's shot shouldn't count as the clock started late and if they didn't lose by 21 pts, I'm sure Sac-town's fans would be angry.

The clock started way too late....pause at the 0:02 of the vid, and u will see that JJ has the ball above his head and then look at the clock and u will see that it didn't even start yet. Good call by the refs.

No way that should've been counted. Clock started clearly late.

I was at a Knicks-Net game like 4 or 5 years ago and Nazr Mohammed dunked an inbound pass with .03 left and it was waived off, so I don't know how this counted

01-14-2010, 06:12 AM
Yes it's possible to make it in .3, not JJ didn't make it, the clock started late. Not that it ended up mattering, but when you can sit and stare at a replay like that and still get it wrong, that baffles me. Why does everybody besides the refs, even including Magic fans think the shot shouldn't have counted? It makes no sense.

fed up the clock there is no way you can catch and shot with .3 on the clock u just gotta chuck it. I know derek fisher did it with.4 before and I think that is the required time you need to do it

Fortunately it didn't affect the outcome of the game.
Pathetic job by the refs allowing it.

I wonder if people ever read the posts before them. There is 3 pages and 75% of the posts are "It shouldn't of counted the clock started late" Well no kidding. That's pretty obvious. Why does it take 20 people to say the same thing?

Sorry a little rant, I just see this happen in sooo many threads. Just sayin...read the post before you and try to at least add somthing to it if you're agreeing with it. Savy

It's a thread. The OP asked a question, and everyone is answering it.

If someone says an opinion before you, and you happen to agree with it, are you going to read it, and then decide not to post? If so, that's silly.

Shot shouldn't have counted.

yup its a good shot. I kept pausing it, and the ball was clearly out of his hands before the clock ended. :P the refs are terrible at calls
