A basketball source has confirmed that Michael Redd suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee on Sunday night in Los Angeles. The injury will sideline the Bucks shooting guard for the rest of the season.

More to come as details become available.

I don't give a **** either way. Dude does this all the time. He is a brittle 6'6'' *** ****. He can't even dunk the ball, or land on his own two feet correctly.

Unbelievable. There goes any hope of trading his ***.

That really sucks. Michael Redd's career could've been so much better without the injuries. It's just really disappointing because he's a hell of a player when healthy.

i dont see how someone can get mad at him being injured.

i really feel bad for the guy. couldve been great.

I'm not mad at him being injured necessarily.

Do you know how much he makes, and how badly he has the Bucks tied down?

Now there is NO chance he gets traded.

This really shouldn't shock anyone. It seems to be the only thing he's good at anymore. He used to be a lights out shooter, now he's just real good at tearing up his knees.

This latest injury wasn't even provoked or the result of something that should cause the type of damage he suffered. Dude pretty much planted and then tore his ****.

That's the end of this guy in the NBA.

Well it's the Bucks that gave him that huge deal. Don't blame Michael Redd for taking a contract that pays him this much. More power to him for getting paid.

the dude isn't an elite player, but he's pretty good still.

it woulda been hard to trade him because he was almost definitely gonna pick up his 18mil+ player option next year and no team would take that contract, so you would get more for trading him next year anyways

Well, look on the bright side. This will just help develop Brandon Jennings.

(side note: Feel bad for Redd, but at least I got Jennings on my fantasy team)

man he needs some better trainers/rehab

this is the 2nd time this season he hurt it without landing funny or anything, first time going up for a dunk and now this time he hurt it while going up for a shot in the paint

wow this is going to affect his upcoming contract next year as he might come very cheap for a team looking for a slashing and good shooting 2 guard..

More touches for Andrew Bogut as well. I'm looking forward to more action between him and Jennings.

Aside from maybe TMac I can't think of a more injury prone player. That sucks for Redd and the Bucks.

Haha.... Now The Bucks Are Probably Regretting Not Lettig him go to the Cavs wen the cavs offer him that big contract.

I think thats about it for this guy. when was the last time redd was relevant. soo many injuries, soo much missed time. he wont ever be the player he once was again. its a good thing milwakee got a good pick in jennings because red has seriously hurt this team for a couple years now.

this is probably a career killing injury. he tore his mcl & acl AGAIN in the same knee he got surgically repaired. he will never be the same michael redd again. it sucks because i'm a huge fan of his (not his contract, but his skills as a player and as a person in general) and this is very unfortunate for him & the bucks. HOPEFULLY, this will allow jennings to flourish more and allow jodie meeks to get a lot more playing time. good luck mike!

If he's done for his career, then at least he has his Olympic Gold Medal to cherish. That's arguably the second most valuable honor in basketball behind earning a Championship Ring.

too bad.

I've always like Redd as a player, but man, I saw the fall, and those knees are way too fragile to be of any use to any teams in the NBA.

TheKing23
01-11-2010, 07:11 PM
Unfortunately I think he could be done... I can't see him being anything more than a valuable, mid-level exception role player on a contender when he becomes a free agent in 2011.

I really hope the guy can prove me wrong, i'm a big fan, but returning from ANOTHER torn ACL and MCL is tough.

besides the fact that he isn't a FA next season, but if a team was looking for that, they would NOt be looking for redd.

you must not have seen it, because he didn't hurt it on any fall...

Yeah, ACL and MCL both gone again...

01-12-2010, 12:06 AM
If this were the same knee he had surgically repaired say a few years ago, and had logged in some considerable playing time between this one and that one, I'd say he could come back. However, if it's the same knee torn again in this short period of time, I say his career is over. It may have been possible for someone to come back from two, but not this close together. He's done.

Too bad, he is one of my favorite players outside of the Celtics.

To all the douchebags who are down on Michael Redd because his injury affects your fantasy basketball season please get a life. The guy is a class act. I wish him all the best and hopefully he has a successful recovery from this devastating injury.

i agree that this pretty much is a career ending injury. the bucks are stuck with his contract and he will be making $18 million next year doing absolutely nothing. cant be mad at him for that. the bucks have moved on jennings and bogut are the future of the bucks. redd was holding them back. another promising career down the john.
