While I'm happy to see the vote of confidence Denver is getting with a good number of posters picking the Nuggets, you guys may want to check the game thread in the Nuggs forum to see the details of the injury report. But long story short, Chauncey probable, Melo questionable, Nene/Birdman/Lawson all game-time decisions. Basically the Nuggs are the walking wounded right now. It will probably take a heroic effort, including some significant production from some of the reserves, to beat the Cavs in this game.

Doesn't look like Carmelo Anthony will play tonight vs.Cleveland. Chauncey Billups says he doesn't expect Melo to play due to knee injury.

But Billups will return tonight against the Cavaliers from a groin strain. He's missed 8 1/2 of the past nine games.

Nuggets Chris Andersen said he won't play against Cleveland due to sprain ankle George Karl said Ty Lawson probably won't go (sprain ankle).

Have fun rolling us, Cavs.

Yeah, in general it seems like the number of teams hit heavily by large numbers of injuries is higher this season than usual. Nets, Nuggs, Warriors, Blazers, Jazz... feel like I'm missing more, too.

Kings kind of...Missing Martin and Garcia for most of the season. Now Donte is out for a bit after Reke missed 3 games. That's child play compared to some teams though.

And its been the same thing every time. a predetermined loss.

Lakers 3 FTA Blazers 17 FTA at the half

Lakers get fouled on almost every play and no call is made. All this to keep a "rivalry" going that doesn't exist anymore.

I'm not even watching the 2nd half. Going out for the night, not worth my time to watch something that isn't real. Another guaranteed loss in portland so they the league can satisfy their fan base. Wouldn't matter if the blazers only had 2 players.

It will come back around. NBA officiating can be pretty fishy and we get our fair share of un-earned free throws as well. I can't watch tonight so I don't know, but it could be the shot selection as well. Kobe has a lot of attempts, if they're all jumpers it will be pretty hard to get to the line.

The Lakers also have 4 rings over the past 10 years and Portland has 0.;) When a team gets 36 free throw attempts to your 9, you aren't really getting a fair shake to compete.

Man I cant believe all the crying around about the refs after Portland took it too em again, the funny thing is one guy says that the Lakers have 4 rings and Portland has 0 then says the refs are always against the Lakers, what a dummy, it takes alot of love from the refs for a team to be in position to compete for 4 rings let alone win 4 rings, what a homer!

The Lakers have little chance in this building against a healthy or hurt Blazer team because it is the loudest arena in the league when LA comes to town(rivals Utah anyway) and the Lakers on court communication is always effected and it shows with unforced turnovers.

Wow no love in this thread for the Nuggets either, I am shocked over 90% of the fans here chose the Cavs over the Nuggets in Denver, it should've been the other way around.

I know it takes great players and coaching but the refs can screw a good team along the way it has happened many a times but they also seem to give the benefit of the doubt to star players more often than not.

All in all the refs are the refs and will continue to officiate games the way they have for decades.

As some a couple of people have stated that the refs called the game for Portland just to continue the rivalry, that was just stupid, I was at the game and watched the Blazers outhustle and outplay the Lakers in this game. Maybe the Lakers were tired, that I could believe but at the same time Portland was maojorly underhanded so moot point on any of it, Portland won and it was just one game no biggie for the Lakers considering they still have the best record in the league and are destined fro bigger things, that's no secret.

ok how do you explain this:

the lakers took 26 more shot attempts than the blazers. yes, 26

but the blazers shot 290% more freethrows

brandon roy shot 40% more freethrows than the enire lakers team

conveniently the blazer's 3 best freethrow shooters shot almost all the freethrows, 2 of them shooting more than the entire lakers team combined

two blazer players had more freethrows than fga

lakers were only called for 4 combined fouls in the 1st and 3rd quarters, yet in the 2nd and 4th they were called for a combined 20 fouls. 11 fouls occuring in the 4th when it mattered since the blazers only shot 31% in the 4th. lakers in the penaly at the 9 minute mark in these quarters. this should never happen period.

and the blazers only win by 9

this is just the stats and don't show the hacking, offensive hooking, three seconds and other violations that were allowed for one team. the lakers are lucky to have escaped without injury.

these statistics are staggering, but it doesn't bother me any more. this is what happens in portland. if i watch games played @portland it is for comical enjoyment.

The more aggressive team gets to the line more, right? The more aggressive team drives, attacks, and scores in the paint more, right?

Lakers- 38 paint points, Portland- 26 paint points

Lakers- 10 free-throws, Portland- 39 free-throws

Some food for thought.

Why do Laker fans complain after every loss?

We weren't complaining about the officiating when we loss to the Clippers a few days ago, but last night was ridiculous. If your team was officiated in that manner, trust me, you would be livid. 36 free throws to 9 free throws is the biggest difference between 2 teams since 06. Last night's game makes Tim Donaghy look more and more credible.

Sure it was, it was an illegal screen, but the no call on CDR and the phantom call on Posey gave you the chance to win, but CP is too god for the Nets
