View Full Version : Zach Randolph better then any Free agent Knicks sign

Zach Randolph had 27 pts and 14 rebounds last night vs
Portland Trailblazers. Thats the Trailblazer who lead the league
in injuries but are still 22-15 vs Knicks 14-20.
Zach Randolph is a better basketball player then any free agent the
Knicks will sign. That is what I am asserting. Of course
there is no way to know until Knicks sign the free agents but
I cannot see Knicks doing better then Zach Randolph.
David Lee and Zach,,,,are 2 very good PFs and Jared Jeffries is not shabby.
Wilson Chandler has also been seen playing PF.
I wonder why having all these power forwards Donnie Walsh
drafted 2 more power forwards.
Heard commentator on ESPN say last night that the Thunder have
excellent managment cause they draft according to need.

Knicks had a great start to their season last year until they traded Randolph.
They have a plan and with the high speed offense, Randolph doesn't fit.
No one ever questioned his talent.

This belongs in the Knicks forum, then again you never have anything supportive to say.

If you've truly forgotten, this is why we traded him:

The Knicks now are better than they were with Jamal and Randolph. Zach averaged 23/10 in Portland while they were terrible. They began to improve as soon as he was traded. Why's that? Ask any blazer fan if they regret trading him.

His contract is terrible and if the Knicks get Lebron or Bosh then trading him was a great move.

Don't think the Knicks will ever cry over Randolph... I like the guy but with his contract? Come on now...

guys like Z-Bo play well when they feel like it, but when things werent working out in NY z-bo was not playing at this level and was commiting bone headed plays... he's not a guy you want to build around.

A reason for why Zach Randolph was traded was not only b/c of his pricey contract.. but also because HE DIDN'T FIT D'ANTONI'S SYSTEM!!!! so therefore the Knicks will pursue other players.

IMO, besides Wade, Lebron, and Bosh.. the Knicks 'MAIN" targets are & should be A'mare stoudamire & Joe Johnson.. former players who thrived under D'Antoni's system.

Sign A'Mare to max contract: 7yr 124mill (17.8 mill per season)

Sign Joe Johnson 5yr 80 mill ( 16 mill per season)

Projected 2010-2011 Lineup!!

C) A'mare Stoudamire
PF) D. Gallinari/Jordan Hill
SF) Wilson Chandler/Jared Jefferies
SG) Joe Johnson/Tony Douglass
PG) ??

Current Salary after signings & retaining other players(48.15 mill)

Knicks only have 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft( #33rd overall). I would believe they would focus primarily on acquiring either a point guard w/experience(Scottie Reynolds, Villanova) or an athletic player who's versatility can make him a a PF or SF( Stanley Robinson, UConn)

the grass is always greener on the other side... they had a talented bunch of guys but the wrong coaching and attitude so they traded the guys. Not sure Amare will have any different attitude in NY then Randolph did...

Everyone knows Z-Bo can score and grab boards, who cares. He doesnt play any team ball, and I've never seen anyone so willing to get out of the way of an incoming offensive player who is attacking the paint. Z-Bo basically clears the damn way for them.

Who cares if they winning some games, they wont go anywhere.

So you're saying he plays defense like David Lee?

So you're saying he plays defense like David Lee?

Even if you want to argue that, one of them plays within the flow of the team offense while one must make others worse to better himself.

So you're saying he plays defense like David Lee?

exactly, except Lee is half the cost.
