I learned long ago that every time I count the Spurs out before the all-star break, they end up winning a championship.

And 31 games clearly proves that notion wrong, especially in the extremely weak Western Conference.

Seems like it could be a Dallas vs San Antonio round 2 while LA would play Denver or Portland.

i dont have the stats at hand but the spurs won mostly against teams that are below .500. that would mean they've had an easy schedule...

Reyes6
01-03-2010, 02:36 PM
And if they lose 2 in a row they could be the 7th seed.:D

I looked, but yeah I already knew this. Spurs playing solid ball lately. But that was expected, everyone and their mother had them in 2nd behind the Lakers.

It could be ****ing anything. The standings are tight and we're not even half way through the season.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Spurs, but I'm not too impressed yet... strength of schedule ranks 22nd at a measly .486 and they've played the 2nd most home games (19)in the NBA... let's see where they sit after the rodeo roadtrip...

I had the Spurs in the top 5 at the beginning of the season. I think come playoff team they can be as scary as anyone. They aren't built for the regular season, they are built for the playoffs. They'll do some damage when they get in, especially if they can grab the 2 seed (I still think they can).

Im telling you guys to drop the win loss stuff, keep an eye on the teams SRS throughout the year. Spurs been at the top for awhile now.

I love the Spurs, but I wasn't happy at all until last 2 weeks when they seem to be making some progress working in the new guys and re-establishing the defense they used to count on.

spurs have proven that their a force to be reckon with throughout the decade idk why anyone would sleep on them.

why are you all surprise? They have done this year after year. How can you sleep on a team that consist of Timmy, Parker, Ginobli, Richard, Antonio and coach Pop? only fools will.

let me remind you who the Almighty Spurs went against the pass 11 games:

Toronto (loss)
Washington
Miami
Minnesota
New York
Milwaukee
Portland (Loss)
LA Clippers
Indiana
Golden State
Phoenix (Loss)

^ they lost to the 3 toughest teams in that list, good point marvix..

Jefferson needs to start taking over some games for them to be more consistent. Tim is only getting older and ginobli is becoming less and less effective.

Spurs are way too good to look over and now their finally starting to mesh with the new fellas. Glad my Jazz already beat em 3 times this season and I don't think we play them again.

The Spurs have lost their killer instinct. No one gets that same fear when you hear "the Spurs are in town". I would have absolutely no fear in facing them in the playoffs. No team in the Western Conference scares me a bit. Orlando and Boston are the only teams that can knock off the Lakers in a series.

Well, IMO, you should go out to win or don't try at all. The Spurs need a Top 4 seed and homecourt if they want to go deep in the playoffs. They will not beat Denver, Dallas, Portland, and even the Suns in a series without homecourt, maybe even with homecourt.

Not even the Rockets? I seem to remember a little game 7 that we took the Lake show to last year, and we always ALWAYS play them close... you're probably right though, but I'm not gonna annoint the Lakers till they play a few road games or back to backs... I think they are probably the best team in the west, but they have had one of the easiest schedules so far so hard to judge... But I agree the Spurs don't scare me at all...

^^ The Rockets don't scare me because let's face it, the Lakers will be picked by everyone outside of Houston to win. However, the series would be tough as they are the most hardworking team in the NBA.

There is still time to improve...people like to dismiss teams when they aren't playing well. But the Spurs are 20-13 and not playing well...if we do play well...we have all the tools to beat anyone. I'm still convinced by that.
