Why isn't this in the Knicks forum?

Why isn't this in the Nets forum?

Because it's New Year's, news is slow, and I want to prime the trade deadline pump, because there will be movement this time around.

Prior to Christmas, Knicks turned down a Nets offer of Rafer Alston and Tony Battie for Nate Robinson and Darko Milicic, league sources say.

Not surprised...

Nate > Rafer

Darko > Battie (not many players you can say that about...)

Knicks only want to make trades that are going to help next year talent wise or money wise and this deal does neither. Playing Nate had to happen because D'Antoni is risking the long term health of Chandler and Gallo by playing them so much. Chandler's ankle was acting up last week and Gallo is already sitting in high chairs on the side line. D'Antoni can use Nates skills when Nate isn't acting like a damn fool. Put pride aside and work it out.

Nate is explosive but considering he's a free agent this summer, how many teams would really be willing to give up much for him? I know I wouldn't if I were a GM. Why not just wait and pick him up as a free agent. Maybe if your team needed that extra guy off the bench this year to score and actually contend for a title but how much would you risk for 4 months with Nate R.?

some marginal team could really use a package of nate and curry to make them a contender.
Nate is a good shooter/scorer.
Eddy curry is a good scorer inside, and he draws a lot of fouls.

Nate will be a free-agent this summer and eddie curry only has 1 year remaining,
and he is only 27. It might look as a gamble because eddy is not getting any playing time right now, but with his skills, he can really help a team like the bulls or the heat.

The only thing Eddy Curry can help with is destroying medicine balls in the workout room and eating himself into a diabetic coma.

It's not newsworthy that's why

Nets offered
two full bags of ****
for a
half full bag of chips and an near empty bag of chips.

If you eat **** I guess you will take that trade, but I would much rather enjoy whatever is left of my chips than eat ****.

The Curry trade was the worst trade in NYK history.

The Nets must have forgotten, Issiah Isn't in charge of the Knicks anymore.

That trade would've been awful for the Knicks-though far from the worst in Knick history. Of all the NBA forums I've seen this is by far the worst. So little substance and so much hyperbole-that suggestion of Alston/Battie for Duhon/Jeffries is not ridiculous, though.

If they threw in a 1st rounder maybe the Knicks would have bite but that's a terrible trade.

That trade would be even worse. The Nets will have the first overall pick. You think they would give that up for Nate and Darko?

Yeah worse for Nets, but much better for Knicks. Besides, there's no guarantee Nets will have first overall pick anyway.

The nets have the mavs first round pick too which will be in the 23-27 range

No matter where the pick is. This years draft is very deep. they should keep both and rebuild from the draft. Nate and Darko aren't worth it.

Basically it would be a Nate for Skip swap. No bueno for the Knicks.

Nate is a monster. I don't see why the Knicks would do it.

I was referring to the 1st rounder they receive from Dallas via the Devin Harris trade.

Is this even news.
Imagine that phone call.
Walsh is like "uh.... no. Wait, how bout we give up Eddy Curry and you give us YI, Boone and CDR?"

The trade is rather pointless for the Knicks so I can easily see why they would reject. But I bet those two Nets, Rafer and Tony for them going to NY from NJ would have been like hell to heaven...and yes it's the Knicks lol
