Plays great D, Good rebounder, if hes open, its in. Makes all the hustle plays, and shoots a very high %.
(homer pick)

Its either terry, or ginobli, or crawford.

Lamar Odom- I don't really think it's close, he can defend multiple positions while most other 6th men can't guard one. He brings a ton of versatility and can post up or run the point on the offense.

I really like Carl Landry as well and when JR Smith is hot he is one of the most lethal players in the league.

RadiantShot
01-02-2010, 01:32 AM
Wouldn't say Landry.

I still gotta give it to Manu, Crawford, or Odom.

Tha Truth
01-02-2010, 01:37 AM
Personally I like JR Smith.

Although he is streaky, he has an immediate impact on the game when he checks in.

Same can be said for Manu.

I actually think Crawford will win 6th man of the year.

Plus he deserves it IMO, he's finally getting a chance to play with a better team, and contribute.

Terry's the front runner

blazerman
01-02-2010, 04:14 AM
Lamar Odom or Jamal Crawford are both great choices, Jr Smith and Carl Landry as well.

It's a tough call out of those guys but I'd take Lamar Odom because he is the key guy off the bench for the world champions and has an all around game that makes him extremely difficult to guard by opposing teams.

he only takes 9 shots a game

DreamShaker
01-02-2010, 04:42 AM
I am going to be a homer and pick Landry. But Terry is the only guy, at this point, I consider close. He is the toughest player on the team, the hardest worker on the team, best crunch time scorer on the team, and has one of the biggest hearts in the NBA. He is one of the best 4th quarter performers in the NBA, and is a legit MIP, 6th man, and All-Star game candidate...his numbers are really solid...but that does not tell the whole story about this man...when it comes time to make a play...there are few people I would trust more in the NBA...just because the guy is RELENTLESS....plus...fun fact...he's never started a game in his entire career...so that's kinda cool!

Mavrix
01-02-2010, 04:43 AM

Landry if he doesnt win at least deserves the MIP, hes been the rockets go to guy in the 4th quarter and has gone up agaisnt centers and abused them, this year his game has been elevated to another level, like they say it doesnt matter who starts the game its who finishes it.

Tony_Starks
01-02-2010, 05:40 PM
Lamar Odom should be mentioned. He's been forced to start because of injuries but technically he's a six man.

tr4shb0t
01-02-2010, 06:52 PM
I'll go with Landry as well. Then probably Varejao, Terry, then Odom.

_KB24_
01-02-2010, 07:19 PM
It depends on what you want from your sixth man.

Scoring: JR Smith
Hustle: Landry
Flopping: Varejo ;)
All around: Odom

WITH that said, I give it to Crawford. He is a dynamic scorer who can create for himself and others at times.

EaglesJackson10
01-02-2010, 07:32 PM
Elton Brand should be considered he plays terrible when he starts but when he comes of the bench he is dominant averaging like 20 in his last 10 games all off the bench.

Okay no offense to anyone but this really shows the idiocracy of some of the posters on this site. Anyone who puts ANY PLAYER over Ginobili, Crawford, or Terry truly does not know one thing about the NBA.

For any of you saying Jared Dudley, he is having one good season. The guys I listed are lightyears ahead of Dudley.

For any of you saying Odom.. he isn't even the best 6th man on his own team.

For any of you saying Landry refer to the Dudley statement.

BADizzleBoY

If I had to choose it off of past oerformances:

Terry
Ginobili
Crawford
Landry
Varejao
Odom
Dudley

If I had to judge it based off of this season:
Crawford
Landry
Terry
Ginobili
Varejao
Dudley
Odom

He isn't the best 6th man in the league but I think Varejao deserves some respect. He's probably top 6 or 7 when it comes to guys off the bench.

Jamal Crawford
Carl Landry
Manu Ginobili
JR Smith
Anderson Varejao
Lamar Odom
Jason Terry

Lamar Odom is not the best 6th man on his own team because he has started half of the games he has played thus far. How the hell can he be a 6th man if he is starting 41 games? Shannon Brown provides spark plug quality minutes. Not to mention Odom plays 30 minutes a game because he STARTS half of the time. Odom gets 9 points in 30 mins. Shannon gets 6 in 17. You give Shannon 30 mins a night like Odom has and he would be putting up 12 and 5.

funny you say all of those players are "lightyears" ahead of landry, since he is averaging better points than all of them, while playing 4 minutes less than crawford and 7 minutes less than terry. he is playing 2 minutes more than manu, but hes averaging 3.6 points more than manu.

then consider that landry leads the league in FG% for players coming off the bench.

then consider that landry leads the ENTIRE league in points scored per 4th quarter.

landry's efficiency rating is a full 3-4 points better than any of those three.

landry is also 7th in FT% in the entire league (only 2 spots behind manu and ahead of both crawford and terry). landry also gets to the line more than any of them (the next closest is terry and he has 30 less attempts).

so no, those players are not "lightyears" ahead of him. in fact, based on the numbers, he is BETTER than all three of them.

So you had the one good season response...but then put Landry as the 2nd best 6th man this season...I see where you are going but Landry has been building towards this for awhile now...he's finally getting more than 20 minutes a game (he should be getting more). And who is better than LO on the Lakers a 6th man?? Brown?? Thing is...players break out and get better....Landry is putting up about 17ppg in 26 minutes and is not yet in his prime...he is shooting 86 percent from the line and nearly 57 percent from the field. He is one of the best 4th quarter players in the NBA on a playoff team...you have to give the guy credit...he's legit. Manu, Terry, and Crawford are all getting older...Manu is nowhere near where he once was...and though he might get back....it's no guarentee. Yes, he is the best out of all these guys when healthy, hands down. But he's not healthy, and may never be the same.

id go landry because he does more then just score which terry and crawford do which we all knew they can do. if the award was best scorer off the bench then fine but its overall contribution and landry is beasting even when you consider there is no real center on that team so he competes with the other teams big guys =]
