I was just wondering how everyone who is not a warrior fan and outside of the Bay Area market see and view Monta Ellis.. What are youre opinions of him? He is averaging 25.6 points/ game which is 6th in the league, and 2.33 steals, which is 2nd. So what do you guys think?

You always have to consider a player's numbers in their team context. Ellis numbers look good to a average fan but you have to consider he's had more opportunities than any player in the league---this decade. He take 21.5 shots to score just 25.6 points, that's not good.

He leads the league in turnovers partially a product of his high minutes and up-tempo system but still, his ast/to ratio is awful especially if you consider him a PG. If he could knock down a 3 point FG i could rank him a bit higher especially playing in GS's system, but he can't.

He's not an all-star and I'd be hesitant to rank him in the top 50 players in the league. He would make an awesome 6th man in the mold of JTerry, Ben Gordon, JCrawford, guys who are scores that are too short to be Shooting Guards and can't run an offense as a PG.
